I've been eyeing getting a Martin Maryland or Martin Baltimore off eBay for this, but I think I will err on the side of frugality (uncommon for me and this hobby) and stick with doing one of these two reboxes I have on my shelf.

I also have a Bleriot XI from EE but the thing is such a flashy disaster I may just find an old FROG copy and just use the EE decals.

Either way I will definitely be getting some rigging practice in this campaign!

Oh- is the S-6B racer a former Frog? I have one of those.

The Whitley is a wonderful looking beast!

The S6B is definitely FROG, Airfix would not have released the moulds

Did Hawk/Testors release it also, or was it a different tool?

If it is the one I am thinking of, theirs was 1/48 and unrelated I think. All FROG moulds were 1/72 I'm pretty sure.

My confusion. I guess I was thinking of the Hawk/Testors 1/48 Supermarine S6B Racer, I thought it was a 1/72.

good day Richard, glad to hear it. I think we have about 14 interested now, and its been about 2 weeks since submittal, so we should get some official word fairly soon.

I'm looking forward to this campaign. Frog Kits have had so many incarnations over the years.

OK, experts Internet rumor says this is a reworking of a Frog kit.

Any clues?

The kit is a reworked Frog Kit. http://www.scalemates.com/products/product.php?id=136589 OK, no excuses not to join the Frog Campaign for those near a Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon and an order to Starfighter Decals.

Well, unfortunately that's kind of circular, I got the rumor from Scalemates.

I do have F4F in Detail and Scale, it suggests that the Academy kit is a copy, or a reworked tool.

The Scalemates chart says "new tool" and changes the line color, at the 1987 Academy release. That seems to be a bit of a remove, at best it is a copy. Also, the Frog tool definately went to NOVO, and that step is missing from the Scalemates chart.
In any case, if you wanted to build a genuine FROG Wildcat, there are several on e-bay for less than $10

1/72 was the largest Frog scale, I believe, but they made some airliners, Comet, Viscount, Brittania, DC-7 etc, in 1/96, and their 707 was 1/144.

That's OK, I've got a couple of Gen-U-ine Frog kits in the stash anyway.

Picked up for $5 each at a recent show...

Nice. I had one of those. FROG introduced me to post war British jets. I also built the SeaHawk, Hunter, and Javelin.

The whole catalog is so interesting. That Corsair kit is another example, WWII British and American planes came with an Australian AF marking option, whenever possible. Building a bunch of those would make a neat shelf project.

This is precisely what I am hoping to illuminate with this campaign.

A Buccaneer! Cool! I'll be interested to see how that one goes together in comparison to the Airfix effort.
