Andrew, that Tempest Mk II is very interesting, I was not aware there was a variant of the Tempest that was so close in shape to the Fury. The only one I had seen before was the Mk V variant with the giant radiator under the prop. Such obscure AF marking choices in the box too, I am excited to see the progress.

Heitor, your lot is...
#36, "Gimme a Break" It's time to make some room, so fold up the wings because you're making any aircraft with folding wings, and it must be built with wings in the folded position!

Well, a really good one. I was afraid about getting something like "bigger than a 747..."
Soon I'll post my kit, some choices already at home...

That seems to have gone very smoothly, Ansel
Airfix 1/72nd TBD
I put the interior together. I had a bash at adding side consoles for the pilot, but wasn't happy with them so I yanked 'em. Added some Tamiya tape harnesses and called it job done. Closed up the fuselage, which was not a great fit. Most parts needed some filler. After I had sanded that back, I went over the whole fuselage with MicroMesh, as it all felt a bit rough from removing the rivets and scribing. Have a decently smooth surface now. Then I added the inner wing sections. Looks like these joins will need a bit of attention as well. Plus ca change...

Yesterday I found out It will be at least 5-6 weeks before we move, so I unpacked the modelling kit and got some work done on the Mirage cockpit:
I added some much needed detail with plasticard and model filler (the rear cockpit had no detail at all, not even an instrument panel!).

Nice and busy, Lee. Good work.
I cleared the bench and I'm ready to start my own! "Neutral Colors"-- a Swedish aircraft, neutral during WW II. Here's my starting pic (used the Micro-Mark Catalog for summer 2013 that just arrived in the mail as my proof of time)...
As a bonus, since I'm building it OOB, I've compiled an in-box review and I'll keep a build log for the AeroScale Reviews too, even though it's a 7-year-old kit. They didn't have any on record yet, so what the heck, right? I never had a kit before with a reference guide included, and I was very excited about the quality of the whole thing.

Similar shape but unless I'm mistaken the Temp had an annular radiator for a Roller Griffon while the fury was powered by the Bristol Centaurus.

The Tempest II had a Centaurus radial. The Fury/Sea Fury was developed from the basic Tempest II concept; it was originally the "Tempest light fighter".
The Griffon powered the Tempest III/IV prototypes which were never developed further.

There was an experimental one. But it used a Sabre engine.

I'm all mixed up. Must've been thinking of that prototype. Simon I'm eagerly awaiting your devastator. Really going to look good with yellow sleeves.
Lee, is that 1/72? Well done.

It's just too cool not to have been developed. What were they thinking? Oh, yeah; there was a war on.
Too bad there's not a conversion kit. It would look really great sitting on the shelf beside a Fw 190 V1

Okay so the main body is assembled for painting. Just have to finish filling, do a wee bit o sanding and mask the pre-painted bits.
Going smoothly so far... I'm going to pre-paint the few parts of the airframe that aren't bare metal I think, then mask them and alclad it. Hopefully all goes well. I think I'm going to do a test run on an old zero to see how alclad works.

Looks like the Mig is proceeding nicely, Ray.
Just popping in to post a brief progress pic. Doing lots of ancillary bits and am hoping for some more dramatic surges of progress in the coming days.
Cheers,
Fred

I give up on alclad.... Going to weather the pants off it to make up for the poor metallic finish.

That's appropriately Soviet, Richard. They never looked shiny even at their best, and at their worst they were almost grey.
