#52!Emergency! Bright colours! Build any firefighting or air ambulance aircraft!

Ok I have found a Revell 1/32nd Medicopter 117.
Its not very colourful .

Oh the joys of yellow plastic.

I shall be starting this today, err once I have got some sunglasses on .

Right, got all the main colours on, plus all the fine white pinstripe decals that go around the different sections of colour. These are a real godsend, as they really neaten up the masking joins. This left me with just one or two minor touch ups, and now I'm ready to tackle the rest of the decals!

Here's a tempest 2 to tease those of us waiting to see andys result.

Andy that's going to be fun! All that yellow...

Chris, what scheme did you decide on?

My mig remains stalled owing to decal failure. Mal Mayfield may end up being my saviour as I'm putting in an unrelated order with him.

Well the interior is done, and its now all closed up, so you can't really see a lot .
.
Now I'm just waiting for the Revell paints for the exterior to arrive.

Hi Richard I'd decided on a Northwest Flying Beech model 18 which is basically an NMF aircraft with black vinyl markings

Simple yet looks stuning especially when taking off!

My SPAD is slowly getting along. The pit ready for closing. I already glued the fuselage halves together but unfortunately there was some misalignment that I have to clean up with putty.

Cheers!

Greetings fellow lottery participants where everyone who completes the lottery gets a prize!! Well a little collection of pixels anyway..
Anyhow, here is my first build for this campaign, Hobbycraft's 1/72 Avro CF-100 Canuck. A closeup of the phone to prove I no cheat..

Then the box and contents.

As you can see I have already removed the fuselage parts and did a test fit. Overall fit is good but there are a few sink holes I have had to fill.
More photos later.
Cheers
Warren

I'm getting workbench time every other day or so. Making steady progress. Here's my plane, ready for primer.
Pre paint
I used wet tissue to fill the engine and cockpit to keep the new paint out. I got that trick from this site-- maybe Jessie(?). Also, note that the exhaust ring is not on-- the engine and cowl are only dry-fit right now.
Now that the primer is on, I'm remembering how much I hate masking airplanes. I need more inspiration.
On the other hand, I'm excited to try a winter white-wash over camo for the first time. More progress soon.

Nice work all around!
It's great to see how many have started their work, already.

I came back from vacation some 10 days ago and after the usual gett'n-used-to-being-home-again, I started my first contribution
50. "Hinomar-YOU!" Build any aircraft belonging to the Japanese Navy, Airforce or Army.
last Sunday morning and pushed it across the finishing just before having to leave for work this morning.
I'll be posting pics here and in the gallery tonight.

I have me second contribution lined up, but I'll probably make a few other builds first. Too many commitments...

Cheers,
Guido

@ Sean,

That CR 42 is going to be slick. The ski variant is going to make that plane very distinctive.

Well - no magic applied here!
Just a small scale model!

Here's my Sweet 1/144th A6M2b Zero. I have taken a great linking in that scale lately. There are so many great little kits out there. I am glad the scale is coming back with a lot of quality stuff. ... and they are so much fun to build, I almost feel like a 10-year-old.

Too right Guido, I've gone to 1/48,1/72 is getting small for me. Tempest got a coat of primer last Sunday but I ran out of silver, away from home right now but holiday weekend coming up, masking is done just need to spray. SPAD and CR42 look good, I've never tried snow wash before and I feel the need for an Il-2 if I can find a campaign to fit it in. Love the SPAD woodgrain, nice job

Ha! I broke into a sweat just thinking about masking that 1/144 canopy! Yikes! (although I have to assume you hand painted it.) It really is impressive how well that turned out at such a small size.

Don't worry. Sweet gives you strips of properly coloured decal to do the canopy frames with

Indeed! But since I didn't have the proper paint I painted the canopy anyway. Now here is the trick: I dipped the canopy into Future and let it dry thoroughly. Then the canopy got painted with the plane without any masking. Aftre another drying spell, I ver carefully scratched the paint off using a needle and an older Olfa blade. After that, I put another layer of Future over the whole plane. Smaller scratches on the canopy did disappear.
Nixt time I will get the proper paint anyway and try the decals!
Cheers,
Guido

Edit: The paint is from Vallejo, BTW.

A little more progress on the Canuck..

Clamp city!!

This is more like it for a 1/72 aircraft! The Blackburn Skua I am building in one of the other thread has almost as much stuff in the cockpit as a 1/32 aircraft!!
But I did find these rather curious markings in the instructions..

Yes, it looks like they missed the exhausts twice then pen amended it before sending it off to the printers who duly printed them ...

Typical early Hobbycrap instructions. If those are aftermarket seats watch out for the canopy fit. The cockpit is too shallow for true scale seats to fit in.
