Chris,
I build tanks, too. It helps me to avoid getting tired of other kits. Stephen,
I like the woodgrain effect you have going. Looks great!

Well, I am calling the F-4D done and there are two posted up in the gallery. Although this is an older kit, it still builds up into a respectable F-4D. I added wiring to the instrument panel and some buckles to the bang-seats. The boarding ladder, baggage pod and gun pod came from a Hasegawa RAF Phantom kit. Model Master Enamel FS 36118 and FS 36270 were used to depict the Cloud Camo. Panel lines were drawn with a lead pencil and shaded with Tamiya Smoke applied via airbrush. A clear coat of Acryl Semi-Gloss was used since the camo on the 1/1 scale birds had an actual sheen to it. Decals came from Hi-Decal and they were really nicely printed, although very thin. The aircraft depicted is an F-4D from the 704th TFS based at Bergstrom AFB in Austin Texas in the 1980's. This was an Air Force Reserve Unit and one of the few who used Cloud Camo on their aircraft. Anyway, this was a fun build and this has been a really fun campaign. I will continue to check in on everybody's projects as they progress.

Best wishes,

Ian

Ian,
Your F4 looks really excellent. Love the camo and the Texas flag fuel tank. The panel lines came out well, and I think I'm going to try the pencil technique, too. The chipped ladder is a nice touch.

She'll be a great display!

Here is an update of the P-40B
This kit is going together quite well. The rudder has PE on it hard to see.

I haven't assembled the wings yet cause I am waiting on some brass barrels for the 30cals

Hi Everybody

I've finished my Canuck. It looks more weathered than I was going for. Part of it was because I'm still having difficulty with pin washes and also because I think that Dullcote doesn't work well with Vallejo Air. Even with layers of Future in between it appears that the aluminum paint has been affected. Besides that it was a fun build, the decals required a bit of work but went down well with Micro Sol and Set. I had to be creative and make a new zero for the right side identification markings as my sticky fingers somehow ripped it apart
Here are some pics.

Thanks for having me

Thanks Gaz. First time I've attempted it on a large scale and I was more than happy with how it turned out. I haven't done as much as I would have liked over my summer holidays, but my other half had me doing jobs around the house. Sometimes we have to be realistic and prioritize the roof over our heads, but the few minutes I have been able to work on the Rumpler have helped me relax. Once the interior is complete the rest of the airframe goes together quickly.
It certainly won't be the last WNW kit I build (truth be told I have their Sopwith Pup, Snipe and Pfalz in the stash along with Rodens Albatros, Sopwith Tripe and SE5A). 1/32 is a great scale for WW1 birds.

Ian and Ron, congratulations on completing. Your F-4 and Canuck look fantastic.
Rodney, looking forward to seeing your P-40, one of my favourites too.

Ok, so I've finished the Bf-109E-4. I chose Major Helmut Wick the Commander of JG2 circa November 1940.

Overall the build went fairly smooth, no major issues. Still could have been executed better by me, but I'm happy with it. Having just returned to the hobby for the first time since I was a kid, I feel I am progressing with each build I finish.

Also, sorry for the background in the pictures, I need to set up a small photo boothas sometime soon.

Hope you guys like her.

Cheers!

Matt

Ron,
Great looking Canuck! I'm not very familiar with the machine, but your build has piqued my curiosity. I'll have to give it some study.

I forgot to post pics of the 1/32 Tamiya F4U-1A painted up. Sorry about that. But here it is all decalled:

 photo 20160910_1801090_zps0qyudrrb.jpg

All kit decals except for the number which I pieced together from an old SuperScale sheet to depict an aircraft flown by Lt. Robert Hanson of VMF-215 in early 1944. Loving it so far!

Well I've started to make a little progress with the Panzer IV. I've partially assembled the hull and I am working on the tracks. Just the right hand side so far and I have to say I'm loving these Kaisen tracks. Way cheaper than Fruil and simple to construct, time consuming yes but very easy to use. I've also applied one of the Tamiya Zimmerit stickers to the hull and as expected not an exact fit but they go on with a little trimming here and there. Once applied however they don't look half bad. Let's see if the rest of them play as nicely! Here are some pics of where I am at the moment, only just started really lol!

Some great stuff happening here!

Rodney,
Love the lines of the P-40!

Michael,
Handsome looking Corsair. Someday I'll have to devote more attention to USN warbirds.

Chris,
Armor is great! Especially when you are in the mood to join plastic with little or no filling. I call it "slapping together some plastic"...very therapeutic.

I like the idea of the stick on zimmerit.

Keep it up!
