Thomas: that does brighten things up a bit around here.
As for me, some fading (might have gotten a touch heavy) was added, and then a first attempt at mud which went, well, acceptable for a first attempt I'd say. And with that I'll call it done, as any further fiddling is unlikely to help.
Camo and markings described by Dragon as "unknown unit, eastern Europe, 1943". I have found a somewhat similar one looking around on the internet a bit, which was a tank of the Totenkopf division at Kursk, so I guess that'd be the most likely here.

Erik, fantastic work on your Panzer IV. I love the cammo scheme, I may have to try something similar.
Managed to do a little work on the Rumpler today. Looking through my reference book I found a close-up photo of a Rumpler cockpit (I believe the restored example in Munich). The photo showed a chain drive on the control column which operated the ailerons. WnW's instructions suggested using elastic line to replicate this, but I reckoned I could do this better using PE anchor chain for 1/700 ships (I occasionally like to do floaty things and always keep some handy).
I need to make a few adjustments to make it take some of the slack out, but looks pretty good.
Hoping to start fitting all the interior together over the next few days.

Erik: Excellent work! Camo and dirt look extremely nice and the Fuel tank and dirty rear are a colorful spot.
Stephen: Do you think the way of the chain crossing the leverage while the clogwheel is on the other side is correct?
The photo looks different.
Anyway, nice work going on here! And Chris: nice progress on the paint.

Thomas, I did notice that myself. The photo caption just says it's a Rumpler aircraft so may not necessarily be a IV, and is only intended by the author to illustrate the control layout. Besides from that I stuck religiously to WNW's diagram in the instructions.
If it is the Munich based Rumpler, that would explain the anomaly. While it is largely original the restorers had to use parts from other aircraft to replace missing parts. I still need to find my photos of the plane, I took dozens when I visited the Deutsches Museum a few years back.

All right Stephen! It's just looking kinda weird as a chain works not easy in a twisted angle.
Phantom is getting the second colour on ...

Thanks for your support, Joe.
Thomas, wait your next processing on colorful Phantom.
I start the interior of KP's Mi-4 with adding some imaginary parts.

Erik, your PzIV looks awesome, the camo looks really cool. I might have to "borrow" it one day for one of my builds.
Suffice to say, I don't know much about modelling airplanes so they all look splendid in my book.

Cool work Mr.K.! Those interior parts look nice.
Started the decaling process after a coat of ...(any floor polish) and a bit of pre-wash the underside.

The Sherman in more or less ready for an undercoat, but as the temperature plummeted to minus 5 centigrade I had to postpone that, as the rattlecan primer is a bit to smelly to use indoors. Hope to get it done during this week so I can do the rest of the painting next weekend.

Not a common sight, so yeah, I think it can take a bit more wear and tear.

I'm not bothering with hope when it comes to Scandinavian winter weather, so I just got myself some Stynylrez, hopefully that'll work out for me, at least until April or so.

i'm almost done. here is all the components, just need to airbrush the exhaust stains, attach the wings and mount it to the stand. i painted the wire for the motor white so it is not as noticeable in the clear tube the plane will be sitting on. the tube in this photo is just for testing.

Think I can reach the finish line whenthere are no issues.
And indeed nice work here guys!
Meanwhile all decals are on and some weathering is done, now giving another coat, fixing the landing gears and some work here and there...

Hi Michael. Ive had an unscheduled operation on my dominant hand and was wondering if you would consider an extension to the campaign to give me time to finish. Still have a fair bit to do on my Revell Phantom. Thanks. Brian

Brian,
I would be happy to look at an extension. How long do you think you need?

Hi Michael. Have the Spitfire for Edgar brooks to finish painting and the phantom to finish build and painting. Its not a problem if I cant get enough time to finish. Hand will be out of action until early December. I dont want you to have to drag on too long as people will be after their ribbons.

Given everything going on I am authorizing a one month extension of this campaign until 1 January. But that's it, so get on it!
