Thanks all for the nice comments.
Joe, Your right every time I do a car it is hit or miss when it comes down to the body fit and attachment, especially when there are door that are designed to open.
I have probably have 15 to 20 other Lamborghini models. I have heard good things about Aoshima and have quite a few Lambos from them that I can not wait to work on.
Joe - BTW-
I like the cowling on the Corsair.

FYI
I used for the first time, Createx Wicked Colors Airbrush Paint (Pearl White). I wanted Model Masters or some other paint but no stores in town had any.
I had read that it did not make a difference what you primed with. SO I primed with Tamiya primer gray. After 4 coats of the pearl, the body looked Silver. This meant I had to start again with a flat white primer.
I will say the Wicked airbrush paint says "Airbrush ready" it looked a little thick out of the bottle. I was surprised that through my Badger 105 Anthem, That I only use for large coverage areas it work fine at 25-30 PSI rather nicely.
The coats also built up rather well. The pics do not show it so well. but it is not that bad of paint.

Hello All
Sorry its been so long since my last update!!
I have finally finished the P-40B from Pearl Harbor
I feel that the cammoflage came out a little too dull but other wise i am happy with it
rodney it looks good to me. you have to remember it probably sat on the runway in the sun so it would fade. i am interested in how you rigged the antenna. i am thinking on doing a AVG plane and want to rig it the same.

I used a product called EZ-line, it is stretchable/elastic I measures wing to wing then pull it back to the tail. Used super glue to attach
Hope that helps

Joe,
The seatbelt hardware came with the kit. Yu were supposed to cut the straps from the paper instruction sheet but I uses a thin lint free tech wipe stained black.
I will let you know that the Createx Wicked airbrush paints although they can be used on multiple surfaces, seem primarily designed for other uses than modeling. The reason I purchased it was it was in out Hobby Lobby where all the modeling and airbrush stuff was.
Here is these quick pitch.
Great for fabric to automotive applications. Wicked Colors are perfect for t-shirts, automotive graphics, illustration and most any application. Wicked contains mild amounts of solvent inter-mixed with a durable, exterior-grade resign and automotive pigments for an extremely durable paint that withstands direct, prolonged exposure to outdoors elements without washing or fading.

yes i have heard of it. i been meaning to get some.
i was primarily interested in how you anchored it to the wings. i was thinking of using a hoop of fine wire in each wing and maybe drill a hole in the rudder to pass the line through.

sounds like it is a kind of automotive paint. maybe just needing a little thinning. is it a lacquer?
joe

No it is acrylic and does have an automotive thinner you can use with it. I used Tamiya Acrylic thinner and it work fine but I think I thinned it a bit to much at first. so 2nd time through, I used it straight airbrush pressure to around 25 psi. Work just fine that way as well. No flow problems or splattering.

I didn't have a drill bit that fine but i was thinking that way too

Done with my Italeri 234/4 and quite happy with the way it turned out (even with the orange peel effect on some of the green)

Rodney: Nice work on that P-40, colour looks to me reasonable. Good to see one more kit finished 4 the campaign.
Richard:Very cool 8-wheeler! Well done on the camo, subtle weahering and detailing, looks great.

I think I'll call this one done! The HobbyBoss kit is pretty good, beside the fact they call out the wrong set of road wheels. The rubbery tracks was easily glued with Tamiya Liquid Cement. I also like that all the different tools are moulded separately as it eases painting a lot.
The finish is Black Citadel primer from a rattle can, and then airbrushed with Vallejo Model Color 70.889 US Olive Drab.
I added a couple more pictures in the Gallery.

Progress update, ready to weathering.
Posted: Saturday, December 17, 2016 - 07:18 AM UTC
Well I'm calling this one done, it's been a real learning curve for me as I'm mostly an aviation modeller and building AFVs and soft skin vehicles is a totally different ball game. The tracks need a little more mud on them as they seem a little to "clean". I used Tamiya's weathering stick for the first time and I kinda like the effects you can achieve with them. It's an acrylic medium so slopping water around it will thin it out and make it look like it went on wet. This particular color seems more like a clay soil though there is a darker one. Still learning my way around chipping, wear etc which I'll experiment with on other models as this had zimmerit on it and chipping that is a whole different effect.
