Sal, this will be a nice one to see painted.

Hi Sal is this the Italeri Ju52/3M? This is the Testors version of the Italeri kit. If so then there were holes that needed to be opened up in the wings and center section for the Pontoons to go in. Two on each side of the wings and two on the center section. I can hopefully give you some measurements to locate the holes if you'd like?

Chris,
Yes it is the Italeri version. I saw and opened the holes in the center section but didn't see anywhere to open up holes on the wings
Some measurements would be a great help or I can just measure the pontoon struts and go from there

WOW! BEAUTIFUL builds all around. I now have some time to jump back in and try to build my Accurate Miniatures Mustang Mk1A. Does anyone have any links so I can obtain some decal for this bird, it came with out a box, instructions, or decals.
Pretty good selection here:

Here's my completed Airfix Hurricane Mk1.
I really enjoyed this build, probably helped a lot by the lack of tedious gap filling and sanding. Well done Airfix ! Your new-tool kits are excellent !
Now i'm leaving the brown and green of my last two aircraft behind and moving into the jet age !
great job on the cane paul. paint looks perfectly faded. what paints did you use and did you lighten them? i am planning on building this kit soon. joe

Completed Special Hobby's 1/32 Tempest V earlier this week, and photos are in the gallery:
Sorry about non descriptive file names, I didn't remember they are shown in the gallery and can't seem to be able to change them.
I wont take closeups this time, because the model looks ok (to me) from a distance, but it's not worth getting too close
The kit is a short run kit, but to my surprise there weren't that many difficult areas. If you are planning to build it, then don't follow instructions blindly (specially cockpit needs to be built in different order). Engine and wing fit was difficult, but not overly difficult.
As far as WWII planes go, Tempest V is my favorite with bubbletop Thunderbolts. I visited Hendon Air Force museum two months ago, and saw Tempest II and was quite surprised by its size. I expected "big engine in small airframe", but this is comparable to the P-47.

There is a particular significant aircraft of the ETO not represented so far. My particular entry remedies this omission.
I found this last week at my local Good Will 2nd hand store for $1.99! My build is the 1/32 Hasagawa BF109K-4. It has been years since I constructed a 1/32 airplane and this kit looks to be very well designed. The kit even includes a pilot figure!

Keep on the good work and progress guys!
Pasi: Congrats for finish your build! Well done and good looking bird
Brent: Great haul! Nice kit and choice. But keep in mind that the kit's decals only provide JG 52-scheme, operating EASTERN FRONT!
Very good source for improving this kit (also released in co-production by Revell) is here.
About my Butcher bird I have to say that I managed to drop it down to the floor... And of course the most difficult and fragile part (cowling/fuselage/wing/wheel wells-connection) was damaged. Fixed it already but don't look too close...

Kit's markings are especially for:
Bf.109K-4
Unit: Stab/JG 52
Serial: 4 (W.Nr.332529)
Czechoslovakia, May 1945
http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/459/2/2
Some others certainly operated ETO.

Fixed the damage after plunge and made some touch ups. Installed the ETCs. Then few wash, dirt and some stains. Mainly underside, upper is still on the shiny stage.

Thomas, the 190 is looking good. I really like how the yellow on the rudder and cowling came out.

Hi Joe, sorry that I missed your message.
Firstly, Thanks !
Secondly, I'm not a stickler for exact paint matches - if it looks right then i'm happy!
The green is Tamiya XF-81 (Dark Green 2)
The brown is Tamiya XF-52 (Flat Earth) lightened with a drop of pure yellow (maybe an 8:1 mix?) as it seems to me that a any reference I looked at was leaning towards the orangey side of brown.
The underside is Tamiya XF-21 (Sky)
Then everything received a sludge wash of dark brown oil paint which I think really helped tone down all the colours including the decals.
Hope that helped.
PS. You'll enjoy this kit I'm sure. It was my first "new-tool" and was a joy from start to finish. Have fun !
