What more to be said? Great job! You've made me seriously wonder about building a JU 52 sometime.

Very nicely done indeed, Sal! Love the old "Tante Ju". Can remenber the days when one was flying in the skies over Berlin as a tourist attraction.

Yes, Sal congrats to this one. I am always afraid to build a plane with pontoons but seeing Your built, i am eager to build one, again.

Paul: Seeing just Your finished Hurri! Flawless! I like it very much!

That's great and so TINY ! Well done Peter
I'm liking the idea more and more of doing some Luftwaffe birds with their easier-to-mask-than-RAF-wavy-line camo !!

Great work going on here!
Since we're more than halfway on this campaign and the CBI Campaign just ended, it's time to start thinking of which one should be next in line. The WWII 75th Anniversary campaigns still to come are:
Pacific Theater
Mediterranean Theater
Eastern Front
As we just recently had a Soviet WWII campaign, I'm thinking of leaving the Eastern Front till a bit later. I'm leaning towards Pacific next, but am willing to be persuaded otherwise. Start date probably 1 August.
Opinions and suggestions welcome!
Michael

Michael, I flipped a coin and came up with the MTO theater and I have plenty of P-40's.

Very good to come up with that question, Michael.
Already wonder what comes next...
So I flipped a bunch of Bf109-kits and came also up with MTO.

Would that be in 1/32nd scale Michael? Actually I have a plethora of P-40's which can be either MTO or Pacific, I quite like the MTO colour schemes. I have a couple of 1/48 Bf109F's that would look stunning in MTO camo as well. So I'm leaning towards MTO but would be just as happy with Pacific. Yeah yeah I know getting corrugations on my bum get off the fence already ...... so lets go with MTO.
Hey Sal you want something MTO I've got several AMT P-40's and your welcome to one of them as they're unboxed kits so would be easy to post.

Ok folks, back to business and let's leave the MTO/PTO etc.-discussion for it's own thread...
Done some more weathering/wash, especially top side and fuselage. Than covered all with matte varnish. Here I used the first time (despite the issues I saw) Vallejo. Mixed with their own thinner and few water, well stirred and airbrushed in several thin layers. No frosting and a satisfying result.
Now close to assemble the rest (canopy, prop, wheels, bits 'n bytes, aerials...)

Thomas, your Focke Wulf is looking really nice! Mine fell behind a bit but is back on the bench again.
Over the last few weeks I got the wheel well mostly fit with some minor adjustments remaining. I opted to leave the kits original landing gear mounting points and cut the resin wheel well set to match. This should simplify the landing gear attachment.
Today I worked on making a proper A-7 out of my kit. First I trimmed off the out gun covers that I mindlessly glued on at the start leaving myself a nice mess to clean up and rescribe. I also drilled new holes to relocate the bomb/tank rack rearward 8 scale inches or so. This like alot of the kits features are for the much more common A-8 variants. I also had to fill various fuel/oxygen ports and various other access hatches associated with the A-8s MW-50 boost system.
Initially I investigated to possibility of using the new exhaust sets geared for the new edaurd kit but some quick measurments between the kits showed this might not be the best
solution. So I started scratch building my exhausts from .040"/1mm styrene rod and a small sheet brace. Before gluing these were drilled individually with a #76 .020" bit. I planned to sand the sides to end up with a more oval shape but I may just be happy Ive got hollow pipes and open flaps, the new Eduard kit doesnt have either!
Next up is creating some MG131 spent case chutes and the underside exhausts then maybe I can glue some pieces together... for good this time
Id be down for the PTO, I'm thinking either a VLR Mustang or P-39/400. I've also got several MTO ideas, all rhyme with spitfire but Im unsure yet about what to build for an eastern front campaign.

Thomas: Your Würger comes along very nice. I like the paint job You have done. Looks great!
Mike: Awesome work on these exhausts. This will be truly eyecatching.
Bob: Your Mustang comes comes along nicely, too. I am watching Your build of the Catalina in the flying boats campaign, too. I never managed to build two kits parallel!

Oliver, one kit at a time is the better way to build. But I have retired and there are so many airplanes that I want to build and the desk is open. So! I started (7) campaign builds
I build on a kit then when it is time for some item to dry from glue or paint I then put it in a box and pull out one of the other kits.
Crazy. Huh!
Bob
