Hi there everyone
Well "Eileen" has now been completed.
This was the Academy kit in 1/48th built OOB except for PE belts. Nice kit, no major issue's building it.
I hope you like it.
As always your comments, either good or bad are more than welcomed.

I think there are more great looking builds on this campaign than I have ever seen in one place before. This campaign is a complete advanced modelers contest. Those P-47s, Wow. I have one in 148 and one in 1/32 sitting in the stash. I am about ready to pull both of them out. Great job to everybody involved.

@Ted, very cool looking bird. How did the decals go on? Rumours say that Academy decals can be a pain in the a**.
@Eetu, I just saw your finished French P-47 in the gallery now. I must have missed it earlier. Great build - looks different in those French markings.

Hi Jesper,
The decals actually went on quite well, a little thin, but overall not that bad.
The nose decal was a bit if an adventure, there are a couple of small gaps as it curves but all in all I am pleased with the result.
It has been a great campain, thanks for running it for us.

@Ted: thanks for the feed back on the decals. I am wondering whether to use the Academy decals in some of my Academy kits in my stash or buy replacements.
@Rick: Looks good - that is definently a real down low tank hunter Good job on both the base and the aircraft. It will look stunning on the shelve
Glad you both enjoyed the campaign.

Great job on the decals, Stefan. I can see and read you have been through hell and back with those.
The end result is very good.
Hi Jesper!
Not quite THAT bad, but It sure was a bumpy ride!
I solved the problem by borrowing the decalsheet from my good friend´s kit (Thanks Lasse!), so I could lay another decal over the first or "Cut´n´Glue the offending parts!
Looks much better now;
When the decals were finally done, I washed the panel lines with a dark brown color and then a satin clear coat to seal paint and decals.
To top It off and "break" the stark contrasts, I gave the model a coat of a VERY diluted light grey paint (10% paint/90% thinner).
This top coat evens the colors and blends It all together.
You can hardly see any paint, but the effect is striking!
By now I had a pile of small assemblies and small parts left in the box and started with the final assembly.
landing gears;
Flaps, gun barrells, canopy, all glazing and all small parts took no time to assemble.
Before I knew it, she was done!
Yes, my second build for this Campaign, The Hasegawa 1/32 P-47D Thunderbolt is DONE!
More pics of the finished model;
Please feel free to comment on my build!
Thanks for a very fun and well run Campaign!
Cheers!

Good job on that one, Todd.
I can only agree with Rick. Brings back memories of the Panthers being turned upside down by rocket firing Typhoons.
Thanks for participating

I'm getting there guys, so wait for me on the runway .
I started this 2 days ago and should be finished by the deadline.
I just need to do the decals, which some will be "borrowed" from another kit and some of the markings will be have to be painted on, weathering and sticking on all the dangly bits.
Pic's of where I am at present.

Hello Everyone,
I’ve been enjoying forum logs of this campaign and since Betheyn is going for the Gusto at the last minute, I will as well. I’m ready now for gloss coat. Oh, it’s the Monogram Hawker Hurricane OOB. I will take it to work tomorrow and do more in the evening during our down time.
Sincerely,
Brian

Hi Jesper
as my model was subject of a feature I thought I could leave out the gallery upload?
