Some interesting News via Facebook (and the Airfix Page) of the launch of a New magazine bearing the company's name.

The Bf 110C was the first version of the Bf 110 to be equipped with Daimler Benz engines. At the altitudes it had to operate in order to protect the bombers it would prove to be increasingly vulnerable to British and later American fighter aircraft due to its lack of manoeuvrability. The "D" version came with additional fuel tanks for increased range.
The new tool Messerschmitt Bf110C-2/C-4 has hit the shops. Not much information or pictures on the Airfix website, but there are a few sprue shots circulating around some of the other forums sites. Very reasonable price though. I will update when there are some sprue shots

Under the new owners, Hornby, the new Airfix website has just been launched.
Hornby who took over the Airfix and Humbrol brands after the near extinction of these two modelling legends have redesigned the new web page.
  • Diorama sets
Airfix are back, thanks to Hornby who saved them from certain extinction. Airfix have released four new sets, well nearly new, as they are repackaging some of their older kits as diorama sets. The pre-formed bases can be painted to provide a diorama area to place the models in each set onto. Hopefully these sets will tempt a new generation of model builders into the fold.
The wait is almost over for Airfix's 1/72 scale kit of the TSR-2, Britain's potentially world-beating aircraft that was cancelled by the Labour government in the 1960s. After 40 years, the TSR.2 remains one of the most controversial aircraft projects in history, sounding the death-knell many famous names in the British aircraft industry.
There's plenty for Spitfire fans to be excited about as Airfix have released pictures of the early test-mouldings of their forthcoming 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk. IXc.
