Thomas H. Hitchock's long awaited study of the Ta 152 is due for publication this spring. Originally announced by Monogram Publications over five years ago, the future of this book, which represents the fruits of years of research, seemed in the balance until that company was acquired by Eagle Editions.
Now, the wait is finally over and modellers and Luftwaffe enthusiasts will be able to read what is undoubtedly set to become the definitive work on the "Tank".

The hardcover 9" X 12" book contains 208 pages, 180 photos, 40 color photos, 36 color illustrations, 75 drawing, plus 19 tables and charts.

Five lavishly illustrated chapters describe the test pilots and operational crews who flew the fighter into combat. Many of the photos in this title have never been published previously. Line drawings include complete three views, sectionals, charts, detail views and general arrangement drawings, including maps. Full color profiles by leading illustrators detail camouflage and markings as interpreted from the provided photos.

Four appendices include: camouflage, insignia and markings; production and Werknummern; specifications, weights, performance and equipment; pilot operating instructions and systems.

Focke-Wulf Ta 152, the third in Eagle Editions "Monogram Monarch" series, is available in two forms: the standard edition, and a leather bound, limited Deluxe edition of 350 copies, each autographed by Ta 152, JG 301 pilot Willi Reschke who also wrote the foreword to the book.

The Standard Edition (ISBN 978-0-914144-53-3) costs $69.95
The Deluxe edition (ISBN 978-0-914144-50-2) costs $115.00
Eagle Edition books available worldwide, or may be purchased direct from the company's website.

Looks like a great book! Just wish it wasn't so expensive! Oh well. I wonder if the RLM 84 color question is addressed in it? I want to paint my TA-152H with that underside color and side fuselage color as well but the argument continues over whether it was a poorly mixed batch of RLM 76 or whether it was indeed a real color. Don't know. I may just paint it the way I want it and be done with it. Russell

That's what I do. Chuck a completely unscientific quantity of yellow into my usual RLM 76 and be done with it. Unless some undiscovered documentation is turned up I doubt there will be an answer to the RLM 84 conundrum, certainly not in a book "finished" five years ago. Cheers Steve

I have read elsewhere that Eagle Editions are honouring pre orders placed and paid for when the release was originally announced and are honouring the original price. Sounds like some people are getting themselves a bargain! Nige

Yes they may be honouring the original pre-purchase price 5 years ago but they are now saying that the postage offered prior is no longer available. For international orders we now have to pay another USD$50 to cover International Priority postage!!!!! Surely there are other options to send mail overseas from the US of A???? Not thrilled at all......

yep apparently there used to be a 'surface' option, but that no longer exists...and again, apparently, all they are doing is passing on these new mailing costs. while I think in fairness EE have been more than reasonable in honouring monies paid five years ago to another company they should perhaps have offered refunds to those who don't want to pay the additional charges..

I have Dietmar Harmann's book on the Ta 152 and it's a really good read.
