Ding Hao is complete. I lost the landing light lens so the white stuff you see on the leading edge of the wing is krystal kleer that is drying. Decided to keep the weathering to a minimum with this one with just some minor exhaust and gun stains. A great kit for all concerned. Easy enough for the first time builder, and enough that those who want to go further with it can. Anyway, here she is. Thanks, "Q"

Focke wulf fw 190A-8/R2 flown by Unteroffizier Willi Maximowitz IV.(Sturm) / JG3
44 victories, of which 15 were viermot.
My interpretation of Tamiyas kit painted with brush and Lifecolor acrylics. Photos are bit yellowish, because I had no chance to take them outside due to weather.
I apologize the quality of the pictures, but I have only old camera with just 4 megapixels , I'll try to take new photos tomorrow in better light.
edit. I just noticed that I forgot spinner cover

It was a great fun joining and watching the oter builds. Thanks everyone, Thanks Nigel! We may repeat it every year I guess. There are loads of colorful aces in the history(ok some are ruthless and mean, so?) and they flew a lot of planes. I am always in for another ace memorial:}

Did we really do all that? After viewing that lot again I am impressed by the quality and variety of the builds.. Pats on the back all round. Well, I'll polish off this glass of Ardbeg and wander out into the dark, looking for the test pilots Mess, I feel the need for speed and a F-100
Oh and btw I'm up for another ace......

Yes we did!, and thats only 43% of the entrants!
I'm sure there will be a few more using the extension.
Incase you missed it, anyone who had entered before the closing date can still qualify for a ribbon by uploading their finished photos in the gallery before Xmas.
I think seeing the entrys with the photographs of the real planes is so much better than just seeing photos of models alone.
Another Aces Campaign?,,maybe 2010?
I have the Thunderbolt group build running through 2009...hmm,,Thunderbolt Aces?,,
Only joking
I would certainly consider running another Aces campaign further down the line though.
Thanks again everybody for making my first campaign a very good one!

Phew!
Thanks Nige.
I'm 2 days late but here it is. This is the Hobby Boss 1/72 "Easy Assembly" F4F-4 Wildcat kit.
It goes togrther well and is nicely detailed. It's OOB apart from seatbelts from foil, fishing line as antenna and an old decal for the instrument panel. My only criticism of the kit would be the cockpit, very little detail, which is why it's closed. However everything else is fine. I'd definitely recommend the kit for a quick stress-free build
This is White 50 flown by Joe Foss the highest ranking ace in Marine Corps history and Medal of Honor recipient. Foss flew white 50 for several of his victories. On 12 November 1942, he downed two 'Bettys' and a single Zero to notch up kill numbers 20, 21 and 22. White 50 was entirely representative of Guadalcanal F4Fs, with no personal or unit markings. Kill tallies were rarely painted on Marine F4F, it being felt that such decorations would generate unwelcome attention from the enemy.
Thanks for a great campaign and especially congrats to Nigel on running his first campaign!

Great Campaign!! ... and great leadership too, thanks Nige!
I would have liked to participate a bit more considering I almost exclusively build aces ... well, things happen. Luckily I was early on finishing my entry for this campaign.
all the best
Steffen

Thanks all for this nice campaign, especially thanks for leader!
Mike, check you camera settings, that F4F looks light green in my screen. Nice build anyways.
I would had liked to notice this forum and this awesome campaign bit earlier, as it was only a month left when I joined. This would have allowed me for more precise investigation and build, but I am quite happy for my würger and first completed campaign!
Thank you,
Tuomas

Thanks for running the campaign!
Even though I didn't make it in time for the original timeline, I hope I'll be able to come sipping off the left-overs at the club!

Actually Nigel, your first leading, my first period. I thought they were all run like yours, now I know different and your contribution added fun and involvement, you run another, I'll be there (except I'm afraid P-47s aren't my thing)
