Hello,
Would the new Dragon Focke-Wulf Ta 152 C-0 qualify this campaign?

It definitely qualifies Tuomas. Looking forward to seeing it.

Mike.

Jesper, great choice for an entry. I really like that kit, and have been looking for one for quite awhile. It will be great to watch you build it up into your usual masterpiece.

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks, Mike. I was lucky to find the kit some years back in a hobby store in Latvia.

I have been waiting for the right moment and mood to start it. It requires the right "what-if" mood to start it and come up with markings and camouflage. I am planning some kind of hard edge camouflage to contrast the bullet shaped body.

More to follow

Cool Triebflugel!! I've always wanted to build one of those. Can't wait to see it done.

Here's the dry fit of most of the trolley parts. There are quite a few seams and ejector pin marks to fill but I've got it done. There will be more detailing before I finally paint it.

The rocket pod has raised rivet detail that will have to be replaced. I'll have more updates soon.

Hi guys,

Here's some more progress on the trolley. I've added bolt head details to it and painted most of it.

There are still some more details I want to add.

more soon,

Mark

Just a question poped in my mind. I couldn't see anything about it in the forum(maybe I didn't look hard enough sorry) can we build anything allied to Luftwaffe. Real or possible allies like Romania, Japan, Italy or Finnland(I know theysigned truce earlier but who knows maybe Soviets decided it was not enough:}) or maybe even Turkey(which declared war to Germany in the last days in reality). It could be fun eh?

Hi all,

@Mark: Great detailing on the trolley. It'll be a great addition to the campaign too!

@Yalım: Well, if there are no objections from the other campaign members, why not. There is the "what if?" element in the campaign rules so if you wanted to do a Luft '46 in other air force colours then go for it

@Jesper: Wonderful choice with the Triebvogel. The more bizarre the better!

Mike.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Construction has now finished. It was pretty difficult to align the wings and the landing gear as the contact points are pretty small. However, I think it looks already although the joints are not solid.

I also managed to apply the first coat of RLM 76. Next is a splinter scheme.

Comments welcome

And people say that the americans designed mad hood ornaments in those days

It's a mad design, but I'm enjoying it. Looking forward to the paint.

And after my initial orderve to spice up the dance floor here is the main course of my entry; PM's 1/72 Messerschmitt P.1111. I did a little bit of fidleing around with some spare Fw.190 parts. Not done yet but didn't like it much so far:(

That's a slick one Yalım. I really like the camo, with mottles here, but not there. It seems even more the right thing than Luftwaffes normal patterns. Cool!

Thanks Tony. I like mixed up camoflages personaly. I am not sure how visible they are but there is also some RLM74 mottles and lines scattered across the pattern. I will take better photoes when I finish it.

Here's my campaign submission,

Its the Fonderie Miniature, 1/48 BV 212.

When I first opened the box, I was skeptical that it would go together easily. But I was very surprised; it went together without any filler and no fuss. Definetly a kit to pick up if you can find one.

Erik,

Great job. I was wondering if that was a good kit. Thanks for the info.

Yalym, a beautfiul piece of workmanship there. That RLM 83, which I believe the green is, really jumps out at you.

Erik, that Blohm and Voss is a beauty as well. Such inventive minds were at work in Germany, although I think of all the interesting designs that the U.S. had played with as well. Whether it was The Curtis-Wright Ascender, or the Northrop Black Bullet, or one of my favorite the McDonnell Moonbat the XP-67.

Really enjoyed the models, keep 'em coming. Russell

Hello all-
I'm starting late, but I joined Aeroscale recently and signed up for this campaign. I've never done anything like this before, so I am excited to participate!

For my entry - which I guess I'll need to get cracking on - I plan to do Eduard's Heinkel He280.

I believe it fits the rules, but my "Luft '46" spin is to do it in operational markings and add 3x20mm MG151 armament as if production and development had proceeded. That's a stretch, given the performance limitations of the actual aircraft, but the overall RLM 02 finish is....zzzzz.

What do you think? Maybe a nice JG 7 bird with a blue/red RDV band? Or a Kdo Nowotny bird with tadpole tail? 81/82/76 splinter, 74/75/76 mottle?

OK, this campaign thing is making me buckle down and actually do some modeling!

Here's some progress on the Heinkel 280 cockpit. Eduard supplies decent detail between the plastic, photo-etch (non-pre-painted), and a resin ejection seat, but I elected to add some items from scrap styrene and metal:

After some deliberating, I elected to paint the cockpit in Schwarzgrau 66. The prototype He280s had cockpits in RLM 02, but it stands to reason that operational aircraft would have used the darker, later-war color:

Having found no photos of a He280 interior, I used the He162 cockpit as inspiration to flesh this one out. Painting was done w/ pre-shaded acrylics, followed by oil wash and some drybrushing.

This is the easy past for me...harder is actually completing assembly. But, at least I've started!

Very nice, Tom. I like the scratch additions...something I've been wanting to try more of myself. Looking good so far...can't wait to see more pics...

Mike

Tom, concidering the time this monster have been tested and flew you can also go with an early war scheme like 65,02, 71 or 65, 70, 71. It would make a scary what if in 1940-41 period:} And if I were you I would definately try a shark mouth. Also can be done as a night fighter eh?

Very nice job, Erik. The paint job is excellent.

I have made some more progress on my Triebvogel. I think I have managed to align all the wheels in the landing gear and the "wings".
The camouflage is on. Next are the decals and some very light weathering.

I am only using a very light wash. After all I expect these birds would not have survived long with relatively untrained pilots trying to land them again after combat.

More to follow....
