Mark-
Looks terrific! One question. When you rig will you run a line through several points, assuming they head in the proper direction or will you run a single line from point to point to point? Is there an 'accepted' way of running rigging lines or is it whatever strikes your mood? In other words, what works?

Thanks Stephen and Terri.
Glenn,
I'll run them all point to point. I'll do a step by step for the next post.

Hi everyone,
Time to finish this one up this week. Here's some progress on the rigging. I glued the rigging lines to the loops on the underside of the top wing.
The turnbuckles will only be installed on the bottoms of the rigging lines.
I decided to use silver sharpie on the rigging lines on this build.
I'm considering bombarding the Sharpie home office with emails to requests that they produce a "gunmetal' color.
more soon,
Mark

Great to see this one come back to the work bench Mark . Very nice neat job on the rigging !
the WN PE parts ? really add to the over all effect . I also didn't know that you could get a sharpie in silver !!!

Mark, just found this thread and I have to say, you sir are master of rigging biplanes. That is sweet. Normally, I'm into jets and I don't have to worry about rigging lines. However, I love the look of WW1 aircrafts and I think I will have to purchase couple of different kit and try my skills with these early planes. I can't believe the quality of kits Roden and WingNuts are bring out. They are very nicely detail.
Anyway, I can go on and on...but I wanted to say you are doing great. I will following this because I will like to learn about this kit as much as possible and your build is very informative. So, keep up the good work.
Mike

Thanks everyone. It sure is an enjoyable build.
Mike, be sure to check out Terri Werner's Pfalz DIIIa build for some more useful rigging tips.

Terri,
At a standstill at the moment. I've bought a new house and am in the process of moving in. Much is still in boxes. I'll hopefuly have an update in a week or two. I'm aways checking in on the site from time to time.

Moving house , never a fun task at all !
It's the unpacking of the boxes which take the time , or at least for me . Been in my new place now for 6 months and still haven't finished doing the unpacking !
Glad to hear that you are doing well !

Hey Mark. Here is an off the wall question for you. I have test fitted the wings and noticed there is a lot of wing to attach. Have you noticed any wing sag in your build?

Carl,
First of all, great job on your build. I haven't noticed much sag and the wings have been on a while. I do suggest to rig the wings first then rig the undercarriage and under the center wing. I had to replace a few rigging wires in those two spots that went a little loose after installing the wings. Other than that it's smooth sailing.
I'm in the middle of setting up my new model room but I do have a small update to show you of the prop and observer's gun.
