Your Widow is looking great Scott, those "spoilerons" came up really well.

Superb work Hermann, your Widow is a fine addition to the campaign. I like the idea of not attaching the glass, and I'm really glad you sorted the tail-sitter syndrome. You have achieved a really nice highlighting effect on the panel lines and rivets, what did you use there?
Thanks so much for supporting my campaign, and for sharing your build with us.
Salut, D

Thank you Damian! As per the highlights on the panel lines and rivets, I used Promodeller's light dirt clay wash. It sure was fun to participate and to follow the stunning builds in the campaign. I would also like to thank everyone for all the good advice and tips that I recieved.

Hermann, really nice build how did you achieve the effects on the top panels of the wing?

Thanks Bob! for the panel lines, I used a clay wash that's distributed by Promodeller. It is brushed on the surface and once it dries, you just wipe it off with a damp paper towel. The product works best on a glossy finish.

Great looking Widow Hermann. I like the interior colour too. Is that a mix of your own? All my USAAF models have MM Zinc Chromate Green and I'd like to do something different next time.

Thanks Simon. I painted the interior of the blackwidow using Tamiya's yellow-green (XF-4).

Well, finally finished my entry. Its Academies 1/72 OV-10 Bronco. Wasn't too happy with where I placed the shark mouth decal, looked good at the time!

Another fine P-61 here in Black Widow Paradise, Hermann! The weathering looks good on it, especially the cockpit is well done!
@Nick
Your pony looks also fine, though I guess the shark mouth should be a little deeper, right?
Happy modelling

Hey Nick, sorry mate I missed your "finished" post with all the other stuff going on !! Your Bronco looks great and the finish is really nice, but I can see what you mean about the mouth.
Thanks for sharing your build with us and supporting the BOOM train !!

Nice bird, Nick. The shark mouth should probably have been a little lower, but overall a nice COIN aircraft.

Hmmmm.. Maybe I should think about starting my build...
1/32 Roden DH2? 1/32 Matchbox/Revell DH Sea Venom? 1/72 Italeri Flying Boxcar (Fairchild C-119)?
Which one should I build?

I was thinking seriously about the Boxcar at the start, but don't be shy, do all 3 if you really want !!

Hi Guys
some very nice Twinbooomer-builds! If I remember a comment at the beginning I think there are faaaaar more Black Widows than Lightnings (so far).... so I also should start my kit soon to at least have a chance to make the finish line .... now I am building a totally different kind of "twin boom"
cheers
Steffen

checking in... nice builds in this thread.
I've had to curtail modeling for a few weeks but I'm back on track.
Started the decals last night. The Aeromaster decals are really nice.
Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have finished pics.
But I'm starting to have trepidation about removing the window masking....

Scott, welcome back mate, looking forward to some pics once the decals are in place.

Steffen, that is not nice because it's a "Flugzeugkaputtmachdingsbums" (sorry for this loooong german word, folks, you could simply translate it with AA ...)
On the other side you are perfect right, because this thread is the "Home Of Black Widows" No, I don't mean these tiny nasty spiders ....
Ciao
Torsten

IMHO it fits nicely, because it is a twin and it makes biiiig boom (have you ever seen a 23mm round .. ohh boy, that really makes "Aua" )
I just wanted to remind some that feared this would be a Lightning campaign, but it is not but rather a Black Widow campaign ....
cheers
Steffen

cheers

Nick, your Bronco looks very good I think. The shark mouth might be a little wider, but if it isn't printed that way don't worry about it. Good job again. Russell

I'm calling this a wrap before I break off any more super britle pieces (due to the age of the kit and the fact it kept in an attic for years).

PS - I'm trying to upload to the galley but they're not going. It says they are, but they're not showing up.

Super job Scott, yet another FINE Widow for the gallery. Those dive brakes look really good, I'm thinking I might have to hunt a set down for my next Widow build.
