Hi all!

I have decided that I´ll build a Revell/Monogram P-61 Black Widow.

One of my very first models I ever built was the old, old Airfix P-61!
It had a strikingly beutiful Lady as nose art, naturally It was the "Lady In the Dark"!
So that´s what I´m gonna build, but this time in 1/48th scale (I´m older now!)!

Cheers!

Hi Stefan and Todd, thanks for joining up, duly noted in Roll Call.

Stefan I'm doing that same kit for the Pin-Ups campaign,I look forward to seeing how you go with yours as well.

Todd, great choice of kit. I have a P-38 Night Fighter in the stash waiting for another Stalkers campaign to start up.

Our numbers are up already with some cool subject matter on all fronts !!

Hi Damian,

So far, you're doing a great job as campaign leader!!! It's all about gathering the flock, keeping them focused on your particular campaign (don't allow them to wander off to any of the many other interesting campaigns currently running - or at least only to a limited degree) and presenting lots of pictures and info to keep the interest high! And - of course - scaring the living daylights ou of anyone trying to jump ship (such as yours truly)!

I've narrowed down my possible entry opition, and only two remain. I've decided not to buy any new models in 2010 (aftermarket goodies are ok, though), so I had to look through my stash. I've got the ol' Heller Saab J 21A (there are rumours of a new 1/72 kit arriving soon, but hey, that would be contrary to my no-purchase rule). Then I have the Classic Airframes 1/48 FB.5 Vampire (no good Swedish decals though). I think that I'll opt for the first choice ("oh no - that's more rescribing coming up!") despite me having moved up a scale. If nothing else, it would be as an hommage to Saab (a company going through some rough times at the moment).

Hmmm... Look at them looong slender legs!

Ps. Does anyone know if there is a Saab 92 available in 1/72?

Hi Bjorn.
It's a real pity about the demise of a fantastic and distinctive car manufacture. I heard the other night that GM had given up on the SAAB brand, a car that a spent some time practiscing for my driving test. A sad day.

Hi Bjorn, thanks for joining. Man, you just gotta do the J 21, even if it is just for THOSE LEGS !! It's just the coolest looking bird.

Everybody chant with me "J21 J21 J21 J21 J21"

You get the picture ?

Steffen, thanks for confirming mate, I always look forward to your builds !!

Hokay - I'm in for this one.
Good timing! A friend just gave me an old (70's) Monogram P-61 Black Widow that I probably built 4 of in teens.
It's in the short term queue anyway so I'll bump it up. I already have the masks for it and was thinking about getting the exterior detail kit too - if Mrs. Santa gets me the Hold and Fold Bug I asked for for Xmas.

Stefan - Will you be doign the black version? I was thinking of not doing black.

Hi!

I plan to build the "Lady In the Dark", That´s an all-black widow, with aluminum tanks, red spinners and red engine cooling flaps.!
I have the Revell reboxing from some years ago (2003?).
The options in my kit are "Lady in the Dark" (All-Black, Pacific), Snooks2 (All-Black, Pacific) or "Lady Gen", (ETO, Olive Drab/Grey w D-Day stripes).
I suspect you have different options in your kit!

You can build any version, I don´t mind as long as You are Happy!

Cheers!

Stefan

I just had an image in my head of you with a broken wine bottle, holding it like a knife and hiding under everyones work benches. OUCH!
I'll still be building my O-2A and it's colorful scheme.

BTW Damian, the enlist button works for the zombie campaign now.

Hahaha, you have a twisted mind there Hermon !! I am a little bit more diplomatic than that. I would much prefer to sit beside you all at the workbench and SHARE the bottle of wine and use all of my powers of persuasion to get you to enlist. If that fails, if and ONLY if the bottle is EMPTY, then the smashing begins !!

Cheers and have a wonderful Chrissy !!

P.S. Enlisted mate, bring it on !!

G'day all. Well, I've survived another Christmas with my tribe of kids, put together countless sets of Roller blades, slot cars, Lego and R/C goodies, downed an almost adequate volume of beer and red wine, and a WAY more than adequate tonnage of food. In the middle of all of that I even manage a couple of hours at the workbench to try and clear a couple of campaign builds.

I hope everybody had a great Christmas, and now I'm really looking forward to getting launched on this campaign. I've sent a reminder PM to all of the AWOL identities, and now I'm going to throw a couple of bumps on this thread to keep the fire lit.

Roll on January 1 !!

Well guys, a couple of days to go and we have 27 enlisted now including a new recruit. Welcome Torchy and thanks for joining up. What have you got planned for us here?

I have had replies from some of the interested parties who haven't enlisted yet as follows:

GaryKato (Gary) - focussing on some armour builds at the moment but may join later with a 1/72 P-38 if time permits
TuomasH (Tuomas) - too many other campaign builds going on at present
thegirl (Terri) - possible enlistment later if time permits
Lampie (Nigel) - possible enlistment later if time permits
Ludwig113 (Paul) - possible enlistment later if time permits

Many thanks to those 5 for letting me know their status.

Cheers, D

I'll be starting my Cessna O-2a sometime tommorrow D.
At least I'll have plenty of room to display her when she's done.
BTW I'll be going with the high visibility scheme.
