Ah, Missed the WWII limit. RoG F-82 was coming up on my radar too. P-61 (gear up) might be a 'quick' build. Monster rivets, odd sinks, thick glass, other missing parts?

Still... Zerostroyer, Viper, Tomcat and Corsair campaigns are calling in my weak moments....

Mark, I think that I have something in that dusty stash that could work for ya, let me look and send it on to you. Maybe the kit will see the light of day after a long hibernation.

Thanks Bob, but I don't need more kits to start, I need to finish a few
Haven't looked at the DML in a while, but I expect like the Heller and Airfix kits it's not a shake and bake kit.

I'm 0 for 5 on campaigns (OK, 3 haven't started yet), so I'm going get a few kits finished first.

@ Michael, you will need to get a 1/32 Mossie as well, and remember the unwritten rule, if you post a pic in the thread, you gotta build it !!

Cheers, D

Damien,

Arrgghhh! I've been committed!

Actually, with all the noise about how Airfix was going to do the Mossie in 1/24 years ago but then decided to do it in 1/48 instead, I just thought it might be cool to do the two together, compare the changes over the years. As Airfix doesn't do a Mossie in 1/32, it doesn't fit in my admittedly pretty obscure plan.

By the way, yes, I know it was a FBVI, not IV. See point b. in my post.

We'll see if I have the stamina to do both.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock . . . . 3 weeks . . . . BUMP !!

Sign-Up HERE, You know you want to !!

BTW Dean, I've been thinking, go with whatever Do 335 sub-type you want. I'm not fussy enough to discriminate at that level !!

Hi again good folks, it's time for Reggies regular BUMP to keep the fires stoked on this Campaign. We have 26 absolute legends signed up because they went HERE and pushed the enlist button !!

Now I'm sure there are a few more legendary modelers out there who will just die if they miss the opportunity to show off a mighty WWII Zerstorer build !!

Stretching the bump just a bit. Anybody have any experience or comments on Heller's (Airfix?) 1/72 P-38 (F/H?) or DML's 1/72 P-38J?

Hi all, Campaign needs a bump so I'll let you know I will be doing either an Eduard BF110C or a aptly named Dragon JU88C-6 Zerstorer?

Ok Mark, you went and bumped MY campaign without permission, so you have to build both of those kits !!

I was beginning to wonder whether you had anything apart from Jugs in your stash mate. Thanks for joining us, I'm look forward to this campaign, I just love the heavy twin-engine fighters.

Just thought i would give it a nudge along for you

I DO have a lot of Jug's in my stash and even MORE decals for them, but i do also have quite a few other kits that I have to build. My plan:

Build P-47, Build something else, Build P-47.......

Looking forward to building something with more than 1 engine!

Now here's something i have a few of in my stash, now what to pick from this list? - all in 1/72

Airfix ME110C (new tool)
Fine Molds ME410 (50mm cannon)
Italeri ME 410 (twin werfengranate under each wing)
Hasegawa ME262B (night fighter)
Revell Horten HO229
Zvezda JU88G6
Hasegawa Beaufighter Mk21
Tamiya Mosquito NF XIII/XVII

Not a bad selection if you ask me! Can the campaign organiser(s) please let me know if any of them can't be done for this campaign, that way i can pick one of the others.

thanks

Hi Mike, very nice selection indeed, and I don't envy you making the choice. The only one that I'm not sure about is the Horten 229, did it see active service or was it just experimental and prototypes ?? As always I'm very open to being educated on these things by those "in the know."

Thanks for joining in.

The HO229 was in prototype form only but it did fly. I thought it might be pushing the boundry but it does need to be built sometime!
The only surviving HO229 belongs to the Smithsonian and indeed was examined by engineers from Lockheed Martin and look what they built after seeing it!
Reimar and Walter Horten had accidently stumbled upon 'stealth technology', when all they were after was a more efficient aircraft with long range! I'm sure I heard that it had 20% less radar than similar size planes of the era - anyway its a strange and interesting plane and something I would love to see fly for real!

thanks

Hi Damian,

Count me in this theme.
Got a few sleeping beauties adequate for this campaign, but I'm inclined for the 1/48 Bf.110 G-2/R-4(?... cannot check my sorces right now- mean the 37cm Kannonvogel) using the Revell Kit plus a CMK set for this particular version. Can´t get more Zerstorer than this heavy dude!

Thanks

That 110 with 30mm cannons sounds good. There is an ME410 with 30mm cannons too, Fine Molds do it in 1/72 but I have too many other things to do!

thanks

If I read right, the Do 335 is acceptable, correct?

If so, I'm in with a my 1/48 Monogram kit.
