G'day folks. Just over a week until the flare goes up to start this Campaign off. Time for a subtle little BUMP and reminder to drag the Zerstorers to the front of the stash.

March is looking to be a crazy month, personally I am enlisted in 5 Campaigns and Group Builds starting on March 1, two of which I am leading. Along with that are my son Joshua's birthday, then my wifes birthday, then my birthday spread through the month. I'm not sure I'll make it out the other end alive !!

Cheers, D

Ok, with the YAK finished and the Churchill nicely on the way its time to start something new. I will join with a real fat cow, yes, the Dornier Do 217J or N Nighfighter.

The kit will be the old Italeri one with shape issues and raised panel lines, but what the heck, somebody has to wrestle this dog. The kit is on the way and I expect it to arrive soon.

Cool choice Naseby, I was hoping we would see some of the big bomber conversions show up here ! I look forward to your treatment of the Italeri kit, so please post lots of progress reports for us.

A few days to go, the excitement and tension building, you can almost taste the styrene (almost).

Ok, how about a pre-Campaign Roll Call ? Here's a summary of those who have enlisted, or just shown interest, and their proposed builds. Please check against your name and let me know if I've got everything right, or if you have changed your mind about your build.

Due to the ammount of Campaigns that Sam and I have signed up for I will only be building the Gekko and I believe that Sam will be only doing her Uhu

We still need a ribbon though

That's fine for me, Damian! I guess it shows a Me 110, right? Was it hidden in your hat or where did you get this ribbon so quickly?
How about a campaign badge for our signatures? I would like to have one but don't know how to make it? I thought of a Me 110 and a Mossie or Beau and something like "Aeroscale Zerstörer Campaign" above or underneath them; b/w photos would be perfect. Anyone has an idea how to realize this???

Thanks D

I Just made a slight tweak and removed the Aeroscale logo as I've just realised that this is an Eduard boxart and I don't want to infringe any copyrights

I think I prefer the second ribbon

Well must stop hanging around here and get my other two campaigns finished before this one (and the others) start in a couple of days

Thanks Allen! That's a fine banner! I just added it to my signature. Yes it's the picture of that Eduard 110 C. I have that kit also in my stash but I will leave it for another time, not this campaign.

Damian, what is it on the 2nd ribbon? It's so small I nearly can't see it .... Now, where are my glasses?

What about a ribbon with the theme of a big plane chasing a small fighter, like the unit marking on the Me-110 nose in the campaign banner?

Thanks Lawrence, I'm looking forward to your build ! Roll Call duly updated as well.

A quick qusetion to the masses, do you find the Roll Call post useful ? I think it is good to see a concise summary of the builds for the Campaign, and as the first post of the Official Campaign thread I will be able to keep it updated as progress reports come in (as I have in the Anti-Shipping Campaign). If anybody is considering joining the Campaign they can see what is already on the table, and if you see a kit in the list that you are considering building, you can check the progress reports to find any possible issues to beware of.
It's not very time consuming for me, I was just wondering if anybody else appreciated it

2 more sleeps !!

Damian,

seeing so many 110 proposed for this campaign (small wonder!) i'm thinking about going a bit further and doing either 2 Bf.110 or the Bf.110 G-2 enlisted plus a P-38 from the ETO.
I got this Hasegawa kit sleeping in my stash for a decade or so.

What's the jury verdict ?

Cheers

I know when Sam and I ran the Bye Bye Baby campaign I did a quick visual table in excel of who was participating if they had started and weather they finished or bailed out and then took a screen shot and posted it on the forum

Some of the feedback I got then was approving as the visual was quicker to relate to than a list.

Just my 2p worth

Thanks Allen. My list is just copied/pasted from and Excel spreadsheet, I didn't think of dumping a screenshot ! As you say it's a bit easier to read than the list. I'll have a play and see if I can sort that out.

No no, Naseby! It should be the opposite! As the Bf 110 is THE Zerstörer it should be that a small plane (the 110) chases a big one, like the B-17 or B-24 like it was the case during the "Reichsverteidigung". But I think a ribbon is too small to show all this. So I would stay with the ribbon Damian made.

@Lawrence
Fantastic kit you have there! It's really easy to build (just add glue and shake the box) but the painting is murderous! I've gone all this way last year but the result is worth all the pain and swearing Will you build the "training plane" of Isamu Kashiide or the other version of the 4. Sentai? I've build Kashiide's plane, of course. Oh, btw, there are 2 more Ki-45 in my stash .....

I'll be building Kashiide's aircraft... be letting myself down if I don't give that camouflage pattern a shot!

@ D & Torsten: I have an old Monogram P-38 that I could use for the campaign since there are so many Bf 110's. I like the M version (night fighter version) if it fits the rules. I will try both and see which one I am able to finish
