Tomcat31 Allen Bf 110, He 219 or Gekko

I think it was Sam that was doing the He219 as I don't have one of them in the stash.

It also looks like I'll be doing the Gekko as I still haven't found a Bf110 at a reasonable price yet

MichaelSatin Michael Mossie 1/72 Airfix

Damien,

Actually, my plan right now is the Airfix 1/24 Mossie! And possibly the 1/48 one from the same lads as well, just for comparison.

Whoo hoo, let's GO already!!

Alright, I am in... plan to do either a bf-110 or a ki-45 toryu... most likely the toryu, if i can convince myself to attempt the camo scheme!

Cheers
Lawrence

Lawrence, the camo of the Toryu is really not easy to bring on this great warbird but the result is worth all the pain! The "Nick" is my favourite japanese aircraft of WW II.
This is my Ki-45 (flown by Isamu Kashiide) which I built last year. The kit is Hasegawa 1/48. It took me 10 weeks to build it, 4 for assembly and 6 for painting. This was more time than for my 2 P-61, which I built for the Twin Boom Campaign. And I have 2 more Toryus in my stash .....
Just to motivate you, so go for it!

Happy modelling!

Torsten, that's great work u did there... so i guess i am running out of excuses not to give the toryu a shot! what i have is the 1/72 hasegawa kit, and yup, the decals provided are also for Isamu's aircraft. now i just need to go visualize how exactly to replicate that camo scheme in 1/72...

Cheers!

Hi,

Like Lawrence, I have a Bf110 and Hasegawa's Ki-45 (1:48) in the stash, so I will be building one (or both??) of these.

Cheers

Too many 110s signed up, so I will either do the P-38 or a Ju 88 (C-6 or G-1, not sure which yet)

... or maybe something else.

Sorry about that, Vance the Bf 110 is all that was in my stash. Tell you what, if you send me the P-38 I will send the Bf 110 to you so that you could be with the rest of the Luftwaffe here. (just kidding)

Andy,

I've got a couple of sets of photo-etch seat belts I'm swiping from a Hurricane but that's it, otherwise it'll be out of the box. Pickard's aircraft from Amiens is my aim (hope that's different from yours!

Time for my first BUMP for 2011.

Only 2 months to go now, time to start digging around in the stash and getting all of the kits and paint and AM goodies front and centre ready to go.

Sign-up page is HERE with all of the rules and regs.

We have 38 enlisted and a few more interested, and a great variety of aircraft proposed so far, so this promises to be a great fun and educational Campaign.

Cheers, D

Hey "D" - A "wingy thing" campaign build huh...I haven't build a plane is eons...so I spose I need to then ! I'd lean heavily towards any of the shown Revell 1/32 scale kits as an OOB build but I tossed a few 1/48 scales in there too....got "A" choice{meaning one}?

Hey...where's von flounder on your list....

Spot on Bob, no Phantom sorry, also it's gotta be a fighter, so those bombers and transports are out too.

I'd love to see the 1/32 Bf 110 G, but I hear it's a tough build The 410B-1 or the 262 would fit te bill nicely also.

VonCuda hasn't popped up here yet, methinks he's got a full quota of Campaigns to deal with this year already.

Hey! Bob do ya want to trade kits? I have a Revell 1/48 Bf 110 (which is too difficutl for me to paint) for say the Ju88 . Not really, I see that you have one any way, that Do 17 looks promising or is it just the bomber version?

Hey, how'd I miss you being here?! The 188, 110 and 88 usually{though not always} run the "squiggle camo"{splinter type otherwise}...I did that type on my 1/48 Jagdpanther so I figure I can do that on a larger scale!...maybe my EOD truck too-lol. I left out about 10 other kits that might qualify in 1/72 and 1/48 scales....but I'm going to have to rethink the whole "Fighter" aspect of my twin prop planes and come up with something that'll fit here. Been nearly a year or so since I did my 1/72 WWI HB W-29 floatplane...time for something else!
...are we following each other around - or what?!

The Revell BF110 was my 1st 1/32 plane aquisition quite a few years ago and has a few resin upgrade goodies in it...had a warped upper wing panel{nooooo..not a revel!? } and I prettymuch fixed that, but she was the only game going back then for a 1/32 BF110.
Now, I don't know if you caught it or not, but that Revell ME 262 is the B-1a/U1 twin seat night fighter...I like that one over the single seater...I just do.
I've got both Squadron In action books on either so you call it pal...it's your shindig;
A) Revell 1/32 BF 100 G
or
B) Revell 1/32 Me 262 B-1a/U1

...I'll see if I can go rattle Von PickeledHerring's cage and get him to join.....he can be my muse...then again, with him here it'll wind up being Abuse...

I'm right with you there, I much prefer the look of the twin-seat NF 262's

Ummm, aaahhhhh, ummm, nope, can't decide, guess you'll just have to do them both !!
The whole Campaign idea came from a dicsussion between myself and BlackWidow (Torsten) about having too many 110's in the stash, so that was the main focus to start with, but we have a bucketload of 110's committed so far and I'd just luuuuuuv to see that thirty-tooth 262 NF all built up. I'm leaning that way, but you're the one that has to wield the knife and cement my friend !!
