LOL, I have also been told that when we got engaged that "what's her's is her's and what's mine is her's" but i'm trying to fight that

Your gal and mine must be cast from the same mould, so GOOD LUCK with that. Karen will ask my advice, listen very attentively to what I have to say, and then do exactly what she wants, all the time telling me how wrong I am. If I respond with "whatever you think will be ok with me", then apparently I don't care. Women, you can't live with them, and apparently you can't shoot them !! Then again, she did buy me a compressor and airbrush for Christmas and the Eduard Royal Class Bf 110 kit for my birthday, along with quite a few other kits that she isn't even aware of ( ), so I might keep her for a bit longer

@Fred, thanks for joining us, and your Mossie is very welcome also.

Cheers, D&T

Hi all, your Co-Captain here. Time for one of my fortnightly recruitment BUMPS. I think it might be time for us to post some pics of candidate kits to spice things up !!
I have 3 possibles . . . .

And if I'm feeling like my modelling skills have improved to the point where I can do it justice . . . .

But notice how my hands were shaking as I took the pic of the box, there's a message in that for me.

Now I'm not going to ask you lot what kit I should do, because I know EXACTLY what will happen, so we will all just wait and see if I can't learn a few things for the rest of 2010.

Now it's your turn, what styrene goodies have you got in store for this Zerstorer Campaign ??

Ok Damian, I am in with the Revell Bf 110 that is sitting on the top shelf of my desk. And on the desktop sits all of my accounting / business law / cumputer technology homework and 75lbs. of texts. No wonder I had trouble enlisting or was it that I was not logged in. MY BAD there is no brain power at the moment. I think that I will piggyback off of your build D, to help my own Bf 110's chances of getting finished.

Welcome aboard Rob, and thanks for your support. You have plenty of time to find a place to hide all those books and clear a space for the 110 MESS on your desk. Is it the same kit that I posted ?

can I finish my existing rework of the revell 1/32 kit?
Im taking some time off to regain momentum...2011 would be about right to get back into it.

Hiya Shawn. I've been keeping an eye on your build log and feeling your pain mate !! Personally I don't have a problem with you entering your kit into this campaign, even though you have already done some significant work, because I would love to see you push through the issues and finish what is shaping up to be a really nice build. If this Campaign can provide the motivation for that to happen, I would be pleased.

On the other hand, I value the opinions of my co-leader BlackWidow (Torsten), as well as the other enlisted modellers, on such matters as I am a relative newcomer, so everybody please let us know what you think ???

Hi Shawn,

Sorry but I haven't followed your build blog here, so I don't know how far you have already come. If you want to finish your kit (a Bf 110?) you are very welcome. But please remember, that a campaign is to start and finish a model within the campaign's duration. So, if it's just for the fun (what it should always be) you can sure enter your kit, but you won't get a ribbon at the end for it. It would be unfair to the other participants. Can you live with that?

Ciao

When I last ran a campaign I did allow some kits that had been started with less than 10% started, basically the cockpit or tinkered with some small sub assemblies.

I have just joined this on line site and will gladly accept the challenge set forth, for I do have a squadron of Bf 110s to build. Thinking of an Iraqi flagged ZG 76 Sonderkommando 'Junck' Just an Fujimi kit with a few bits added on.

Up to you guys, I'll join and work towards the ribbon or let her linger till I can dedicate the time on my own.
Either way, great idea for a campaign.

It must be BUMP o'clock !!

Zerstorer Campaign Sign Up Page

We have 19, I think there's a fair chance that more than 19 modellers have a WWII Twin-engine heavy fighter in their stash, surely ???

Anybody else going to post a pic of their proposed kit(s) for us ?? Let's get the discussion going a bit louder.

Now for me, I'm going to do a 110 to start with, because that's where this whole idea came from, but then maybe I should also drag this old gem out for a run as well . . . .

Welcome aboard Trevor, follow the link to the enlistment page for this campaign HERE and you're all set to go come March 2011.

As always I'll grab every opportunity for a recruitment BUMP, we're up to 22 enlisted now. Check your stash, I'm sure there's a ZERSTORER just itching to hit the bench next year.

OK,

It's important to realize that:
a) I finally just discovered my where my Airfix 1/48 Mosquito FBIV has been hiding
b) I'm enjoying my evening libation
c) I appear to be watching "633 Squadron"

Nevertheless, something that has appealed to me:

Now, technically, I suppose I should get the 1/72 kit. Still...

Would a DML 1/72 Dornier Do335b-6 be acceptable? I'm not sure if it was operational before the end of WW2

Hi Dean. I was wondering about the 335 myself. It's a beautiful piece of work !! According to this article (from Aeroflight) there were only 2 of the b-6 prototypes built so it never saw operational service.Do 335 Info

So now I suppose the question is do we start to specify sub-types for acceptability in this Campaign. As always I will start by asking the advice of the masses. What do you all think ??

@ Raj, welcome aboard, thanks for joining us !!

@ Michael, you will need to get a 1/32 Mossie as well, and remember the unwritten rule, if you post a pic in the thread, you gotta build it !!

The B-6 is the version that interests me the most, but I'll gladly build any of the DML 1/72 Do335's if they "fit the bill".

Must..Resist..Temptation...
There's at least 2 P-38's, a P-61 and an F7F calling out to me from the stash....
Gonna wait and see how a couple of this year,s campaigns work out.

Maybe fear is the key. One of the P-38's is Heller, the other DML, the P-61 is an Airfix (without the grear?) and the F7F is the old Mono kit... Plus I haven't decided on the Viper and Tomcat builds yet..

Hi Mark. I say go go go on the P-61 (always my favorite plane), but you will need to put the Tigercat back in the stash for a bit longer. Unfortunately that great looking unit never saw action until the Korean War, and the reports I've read have it beating the stuffing out of a couple of old Polikarpov biplanes as its only combat action. That would have been interesting to watch !!
