Nice x88(I'm too lazy to look up which 88 variant it is) I like your canopy framing sooo neat and the shot on the stand looks like it's just crossing the fence on short final.

Great job Phil, another beautiful build to the gallery. Great to see that magnificent stand in all its glory as well. Thanks for sharing your build with us here on the nostalgia train.

I am currently trying to paint the Dornier, it is not a show stopper I can say. Could not get the tower seated in without a spot of putty. I am guessing what the DLH colours should be. Will try and get it done by the end of the month.

@ Andrew- thanks! its a 188 btw, and i do my canopies with a toothpick/cocktail stick, just dip it in the paint and use it almost like a fine pen to draw on the frames.
@ damian- its been fun to be part of this build, i've finally got the matchbox JU 188 in my built kit collection, and this campaign helped break me out of a modelling drought.

Decals are on folks. A day or 2 to dry thoroughly, then clear coat and masking for white nose and RLM70.

I've got the rigging holes drilled, lower wing mounted and interplane struts in place. It's looking a lot like an airplane now.
The interplane strut mounting troughs need a lot of filling.
While I was in a drilling mood, I opened up the pilot's handholds.

And now we bid farewell to those hideous colours of the bare plastic.

Your Gladiator is looking great Jessica, but I'm not sure that the air in those handholds is the same air that came in the original box, so you may have contravened the no-AM rule. I will have to convene an extraordinary general meeting of the administration staff for this campaign to deliberate. . . . . . . . no, you're all good, carry on !

After market air!!! Damn, wish I'd though to patent that idea a long time ago.....

Gladiators looking good Jessie.
I'm calling mine done. The markings represent the Seafox III of 713 Catapult Flight aboard the cruiser HMS Arethusa, during its time with the 3rd Cruiser Squadron deployed in the Mediterranean.
I'm really proud of this one. First biplane I haven't knackered during building! I might try a few more now. I'd definately build this one again, perhaps in markings for HMS Ajax's Seafox during the Battle of the River Plate.
Pictures aren't the best as I've had to loan my camera to relatives while they're away on holiday, so I've had to take these with my phone. When I get the camera back I'll get some better pics and put them in the campiagn gallery. Been a great campaign Damian and its been great to see so many of Matchbox kits built so well.

Congrats on the finished build Stephen, it looks great even with the phone-pics !
Totally agree, thanks for joining in and sharing your build with us.
By my calculations that will be 10 completed builds, great work everybody.

It's a biplane! And it's silver!
I see that I need to extend the interior green farther forward.
Matters proceed apace.

I know I'm joining this late but I think I can get it done before the closing date. Part of what made me choose this kit was that no one here was doing one so I figured what the heck.
It's going to be a straight forward no nonsense OOB build. One of my current projects is a MPC B-24 and the scratch work has me a bi burnt out so I was looking for something simpler.
My goal s to make this wheels up and in flight. I haven't been able to find a lot in the way of reviews or wips so I'm not really sure what I'm in for yet.
I'm going to go with the "Green Hornet" scheme
Here is the kit for you're perusal

Decals
The Parts
The parts come on 4 sprus trees. One in black, one in light gray, one in olive and a clear tree. To be honest the parts are crisp and clear with no visible flash. The funny thing it the wings all have recessed panel lines while the fuselage is raised. For some reason I find that amusing.

Nice build, Stephen. The seafox looks great.
Cool choice of kit, Dirk. It should have been my second entry for this campaign, but real life came in the way. It will be interesting to see how it goes together. The color scheme is great!

G'day Dirk. Thanks for joining in and welcome aboard mate. I'm looking forward to watching your build progress, I've always liked the Boston/Havoc/P-70 aircraft.
Good luck with the speed-build.
I have now updated the Roll Call/Build Status post on page 1 of the thread, so please take a peek and check that I'm on track with everybody's builds.
Cheers, D

Riddle me this, Matchbox. I was most confused when I opened the box and found that the fuselage had raised panel lines and the wings had recessed lines but this... What were you thinking when you cast this kit?
The fuselage has raised and the nose has recessed... AUGH!!!!
Moving on...
Engine nacelles assembled
Since I'm making this in flight I needed to do a little added work to close the landing gear doors.
Thanks for looking

You learn something new every day! I didn't even know Matchbox did an A-20. I was thinking about one for the night fighters campaign, don't like that nose cone. Glad looks nice tho Jessica
