Yes. I've already glued the wings and tailplanes on. Not too bad so far. Hopefully I won't invent any new bad words doing thuis build.

So this one's a practise build then. No worries

OOOOOOPS! Man, I just GOT to start reading the instructions.

Yeah, Jessica, "practice". Sounds good to me.

Jeez, if I had a brain it might make my life a whole lot easier. Anyway, the practice build continues. Actually, I'm having a good time thinking this assembly through. Much different from a "plastic" build. I'm going to try and makr some kind of interior. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And, Jessica, how are the CMK DC-3s? Always wanted one in an airliner scheme. This is Jim "oops" Turner siging off. Oh, here's a pic of the Skyraider.

They're pretty good for resin kits. Simple, but what 1/144 kit of that size isn't? I should do an in-box review so everyone can see what's in there.

Thanks, Richard and Jessica. The kits actually look somewhat easier then the Skyraider- except, maybe, for the windows. Nice looking schemes, also. There just might be an airliner in my future.

All the best

Ok Richard, I promised I would join if the campaign was expanded. I received a GWH 1/48th Devastator for Christmas, and the August start date will allow me to finish some other things.

It looks good in large size
But by the time you reduce it down to ribbon size it's nearly unreadable
How about just a
D between the propellers?

Just my unartistic 2cents worth. How about a profile between the props, like say a C-47 profile

I like the layout (C-47)
How about vertical strips behind both prop's of a different shade of blue?

As, stated earlier, I was given the GWH Devestator for Christmas. Well, it finally got here. Mom ordered the thing before the holidays and the great american post office finally delivered it. Though smaller than I expected, she is a beautiful kit. Though I do feel the need to point out that I am doing a midway torpedo aircraft dress in Intermediate Blue over White. GWH has the color call out in Gunze and Tamiya and reasonably has you mix the paint to appropriate shade. hove ever the Tamiya color call is a in the spray line for the Blue and their acrylic line for the Grey and there is a call for C351 from Gunze's line paint for the interior. If I recall that is Interior Green/Green Zinc Chromate, but I'm not sure which. The time before Aug will be spent hunting references and color photos for this project. The only color I truley have a question about is Gunze's C137, Does anyone know what color that is referencing?
Also, is researching before the start date cheating?

C 137 is tire black, so the logical deduction is that it's to paint the tires and probably any other rubber bits. Any grey-black will work as s substitute.
Some Devastators retained their silver interiors from the days of "Yellow wings" while others built later had interior green cockpit areas. If your kit represents a late production aircraft then interior green will be correct.

That doesn't work so well. See below.

Okay.

I like those, but what about a bit more colour?
The green invokes the long military tradition of Douglas aircraft.

no, ideally, you would have all your research done
before the start date, so you can start gluing things together that day.
