Great builds an thanks for the comments guys and gals. Warren, too bad about the fall, at least you got the mug shot... Jessica, I admire your rigging!
Well, my first try at rigging almost turned me insane! After having the whole top wing fall off on me after almost finishing the first round, I had all the rigging pieces cut and of course they wouldn't fit anymore. So out came some cable and I managed to finally rig it with fine copper wire. Not as nice and straight as Jessica's but it's rigged! And finished:
Thanks for a great campaign and forcing me to do something different!
Cheers!
Stefan

That looks fantastic! I admit that I cheated a bit on the Stranraer's rigging and used some piano wire I had lying about. My Nieuport is a much better example of the kind of rigging I like to do.

Warren----Sorry your X-1 broke the sound barrier into the carpet. A great looking build nonetheless and I hope you are able to get it all back together.
Stefan---Can't say enough about the SPAD. Really awesome looking.
I worked on the Seafire this weekend and got all the post shading done and the sub-assemblies completed. Should be ready to gloss coat for decals soon. I must say that wind-mill of a contra-rotating prop is pretty cool looking.
Best wishes, Ian

Thanks for that Ian.
Is OK though those pictures are of the reconstructed X-1.

That one would better fit into the Hangar Queen campaign. The trick with the lottery is that the model you'd be required to build would be randomly drawn from a list which was made up when the campaign started. Your build would be complicated by the fact that the campaign has only a month to run. If you really feel up to a speed-build of a randomly-chosen model you're welcome to join in though
Look on page one of this thread for the list and be aware that you could be randomly selected to do any of the unclaimed subjects. Still feeling brave?

I worked some more on the Seafire and all the post-shading and weathering is complete. Now it is ready for Futuring.....or Pledging...or Johnson Waxing...

Its been a while since I touched the DR1 ( I had a few other projects to complete), so now I have some time on my hands, I have made some progress and hope to meet the cut off !
The Cowl / Engine / Upper Wing are dry fitted as I have more painting / fitting to do.
The Camo is Microsculp's DR1 decal sheet, which has been interesting to use.
I have had a change of mind, I will still do a Richthofen Triplane, however I am thinking doing Lother's yellow DR1 rather than the cliche Red Baron. At this stage of build, I can still do Manfred's spare plane if the yellow does not come out !

So many nice builds going on, but I think quite a few will not be finished.
I finally was able to start my second project "NASA to meet you"
Major components are assembeled:
The office is readily panited and manned with a JP crew:
(Sorry it's a bit fuzzy)

Besides a ton of filling I had to do, polishing the parts for the bare metal finish took up most of the work. If you look at the definition of the reflections you can see, which parts are OOB and which have been prepped.

I hope I can finish in time. I'll probably need an extension.
Hope you like it!
Cheers,
Guido

Some very nice looking builds going on here, but I think the Jar of Doom has disappeared as I asked for another assignment weeks ago but have heard nothing.
Guido, if you hadn't spent months on the two pilots you could have easily finished in time...

I got you, Warren, no worries!
my reply was strictly tounge-in-cheek!
Thanks for your kind words on the figures. I need to learn to fit them to the seats properly, but in general I am quite satisfied with them!

Richard West where are you?
Is this campaign still due to finish on the 31st of this month?
I hope all is well.

Hi chums
Some superb builds here and a super range of aircraft.
Here's "Oh de Vichy!" my 1st RS models kit and I'm quite pleased with it
the molding is crisp and flash free.
The only "flaw" was the stb wing root
and all this took was an emery board on the fuselage root get a perfect filler free joint
My most disliked job,masking
seems to take ages
I used Tamiya paints except the yellow with is Revell aqua color and the decals went on a treat with some Tamiya Mark Fit
Ta Da! done and done
Hope you like
Andy

@ Andy, you are a braver man than I used to be. I used to dread that colour scheme on any aircraft but after some of the WW1 schemes I did last year I think I am finally up for a Vichy scheme or two. Sir, you have inspired me (for a few minutes anyway)
@ Richard, what scheme are you going to use on the Helldiver? One of my favourite aircraft for some reason.
Cheers
