Nice one, Jessie, with unsusual markings. But the wheels look a little awry, don't they .... ?
Well, some little progress with my builds. There's a lot of filling and even more sanding to do, but at least the fuselages are more or less done now. In front is the Bf 109 G-6 and in the back you can see her spanish sister, the Hispano HA-1112 Buchon. More to come ....
Happy modelling!

Yes, the wheels do look a little out of position. This is because I attached them with white glue, and they were twisting about on their axles as I was taking the pictures. I'm going to have to try some epoxy next.

OK, we're on to cowling 2.0
The brass stock was more to scale but the contour of the cooling flaps was not convincing and looked all together "janky" once I primed it.
Went back to trusty evergreen sheet. It was easier to shape and takes glue in a way I can have a more solid bond. Should be more durable when I get to the painting stage and, to my eyes, looks more convincing now.
Cheers,
Fred
Did you try annealing the brass before curving it?
I thought that everyone had forgotten that the Med still existed after 1950.. Not one modern until the lovely Starfighter. So I am going to build a modern as well, and as it has to have markings from a country bordering the Med, and Germany and the USA don't border it, I present Meng's Fiat G.91 which will be finished in the markings of Italy's national aerobatic team.
Thanks go out to the Kitmaker Boss, Mr Jim, who sent me this to do a build review on.
Meng even provide you with a high-quality vinyl patch for your flying jacket with the kit. I remember Hasegawa providing some cloth patches with their Thunderbirds and Blue Angels sets back in the dim, dark past.
Anyway, I am off to the bench.. soon..

Warren great subject and kit choice. I like the lines of the G91 in the Italian aerobatic team colors.

And now for the Spitfire. I soaked the chrome off with bleach, then painted the insides black to bring the shadows out. After that dried I sprayed on a coat of interior green

Hello again.
Well I finally started the G.91 today. {;ease note Mr Meng this sort of thing is not nice to do to modellers and I am sure you could have located the ejector pin somewhere less conspicuous..
/>
I got the cockpit done and the fuselage halves together. It is not exactly falling together but if you have all the interior stuff lined up all will be well. Watch the main landing gear/speedbrake housings allignment closely and you will save a little hassle.
Cheers for now

After careful consideration and a long time staring at the mountain of plastic that is my stash I've decided to do a Mig29-A of the Libyan airforce. For two very good reasons I've never built a model of an aircraft from the Libyan Airforce ..... and I have four of these in my stash.

Good reasons mate!
Progress on my Gina..
Wings are on, nose cone on, airbrakes on and the wheel wells masked with Maskol before I paint the fuselage.
Slow maybe but I am building two other kits at the moment as well..
Cheers

Nice progress on your Gina, Warren!
I have also some new pics for you. Instead of using the decal I painted the Cross of Savoy on my 109 and covered it with Kip Tape. The white fuselage band is covered with Parafilm M ....
... the whole aircraft has got a white primer and the grey parts on the wings will later become the overpainted German Balkenkreuze ....
... and the Buchon has already got her underside painted in Mediterranean Blue from Vallejo - spanish paint for a spanish aircraft ....

Thanks Torsten.
Building two kits at once is always challenging but you are managing yours very well. They are both looking great so far.
Cheers

Almost done with the Gina.. Just a little more painting then it is the decals..
Can anyone tell me why some gloss paint never seems to fully cure and you leave fingermarks in it even days after you have sprayed it> Or the masking tape makes it go all strange and matt finished?
