Campaign accomplished!
After solving some minor difficulties with the spinner spiral my Regia Aeronautica Bf 109 G-6/Trop "gunboat" is also ready for take off The decals are very good but also very thin, so carefull working is necessary ....
Happy modelling!
Torsten

A little more progress. Just worked out the colorway for this plane. (The last french aircraft I worked on I felt I didn't get the palette correct so I'm trying extra hard with this one)

Aluminum sub coat, preshade, and underside light blue grey on. Next: to the upper surfaces.

Cheers,
Fred

Fred, your Hawk looks really fine to this point. Can't wait to see it finished .... French camo in WW 2 is always interesting.
Anyway, I've uploaded some photos of my builds to the campaign gallery. If you like you can also have a look at them in my Assembly Line Thread for more information (pages 5 and 6).

Happy modelling!

Hello:

@Torsten: Your models always looks nice... The Italian-109 specially likes me...

@Fred: The Hawk is going really good too... And I agree with Torten, the french schemes are always atractive...

O.K. Here we got a few advances on my "Rata"...

She needs a few touch of "MR.ProblemsSolver", but we are on the way...

Thanks...

I haven't spent anywhere near enough time on Aeroscale lately, just too busy in the real life world !

I have just trawled through this thread from start to finish, what a superb collection of builds ! Great variety, awesome colour schemes and some really top-notch skills in all areas.

Keep up the great work everybody, I will be following whenever I get the chance.

Cheers, D

@ Diego: Is that the Eduard kit? It looks significantly nicer that the old HC kits I'm used to.

-Made a little painting progress last night. Decided to go with a pre 'Fall of France' scheme (spent too much time working on Vichy stripes and kinda want to move through some kits. Besides, it will be nice to start getting that early war collection moving again.)

Can't say I'm thrilled with Armee de l'air color references for this period. No one seems to agree. IPMS Stockholm seems at odds with The FS charts I have and the HC color guide goes in a completely different direction, meanwhile the Micro Scale decal sheet guide has yet another set of FS numbers. Of course the flying example that I have tons of color shots of bears no resemblance to any of the others. ( I swear they used RLM 75 for the topside grey).

Anyway, I'm using my own judgement and aesthetic and hope it will come out right.

Cheers,
Fred

Hello:

@Fred: Yes, it's an Eduard kit, with a new "empty floor" and some "extras" in Styrene stripes, copper wire and Stretched sprue...
In the other hand, your gray looks great; I don't know how much "french-gray",but nice... It is a nice paint job, and I'm looking forward to see the finished scheme...!

Here I've a very small and tiny advance...

The piece design by Eduard, and the homemade by me...

See You latter...

Hello folks,
I have a question to our campaign-leader. I'd like to build a Mirage F-1 for this campaign which is ok, because it is a French aircraft...but I recently got the nice decals of Syhart for the Ecuadorian Air Force. As Ecuador is of course no Mediterranean country, would my Mirage with these markings still qualify??

You could do an F-1 with decals from one of our Mediterranean countries. France per chance.

My built is an Italeri 1/72nd RF-5A in Spanish Air Force markings.

It took me about a month to complete this..

I've always thought the Northrop F-5 series to be the most attractive jet fighters on the block.
Ken, you've done a wonderful job on yours. I'm sure you found the scheme rather difficult. It looks great, though.

Thanks, Ben, John.

It was rather hard to do, I spent about 4 hours just for the top side camo..keep overspraying..

Thanks Brent,
now my question is answered
As I don't intend to build two F-1s, I'm thinking about a Mirage 2000 of the Hellenic Air Force as an alternative (if I can get hold of the Italeri kit in time )

Hoi hoi,

... and Happy New Year (a bit late)! Getting in a bit of bench time today. As we're about to get snowed in this weekend I might even get some serious progress done. Laid down some camo.Checking for any areas to be touched up then its off to clear coat, decals and initial weathering.

Cheers,
Fred

Ugh!

Massive set back. Got lazy and didn't test the setting solution against the decal sheet before applying. Solution ate the decals.

Not in my happy place at the moment.

Thanks, I have a two tiered plan:
1. bust out my other Hawk 75 kit and salvage what elements I can from the current build
2. To keep my spirits up, I'm gonna crack open another build while I'm figuring out what the best way to salvage the Curtiss will be.

Cheers,
Fred
