A question for my fellow FAAers.
SO... Do you all think that would be cheating as it has, technically, been started? I await your judgement.
Michael
If minimum started equals a completed model in the campaign gallery I would say build on Michael

Your logic is compelling Richard. Besides, with the campaign already about 2 months old, it's not like I'm getting an unfair jump on anyone!

Back from Hols,
Very nice job on the Hellcat Lee, the folded wings vey neatly hide the "slightly" tubby fuselage on that kit.
Michael,
Sounds Fine to me, I would call that very slightly started! crack on.
Hope to an update to post on the Pup later today.

Very nice job on the Hellcat Lee,
Welcome back Simon, I hope you had a great holiday. Much as I'd like to take the credit for Ian's amazing Hellcat, I cannot!

Great work everyone! I'm struggling with the big Camel so still haven't gotten off ground zero with my build for this campaign. Given that I need builds for this one and the Grumman campaign, I was thinking a dual build:
Sub hunters. That TBF is an original boxing and, while the box is in rough shape, the kit is fine and unstarted. So is the Swordfish:
Let's see if this plan gets the modeling juices flowing!

Moe plodding on with the rigging,
That's the tailfeathers done.
Interplane strut bracing wires done, just the flying and landing wires, and aileron control wires and that will be the main rigging done.

Thanks Ian,
I still have the hardest bit to do, the flying and landing wires, and then nearly there.

I plan to built one of the Hellcats from
Eduards Dual Combo but I want to get some half finished project off my work table first, so I suspect I'll get it started first week in september (which should be enough time). To get some variation I think I'll chooce one of the all blue Hellcat Mk. II profiles, and a camoflaged Mk. I, but which I build first I'll decide when I get there

Most photos of the Gannet at rest show the wing flaps in the up position.
This kit does not have this option so I had to glue strips to support the flap when closed (as on the left):-

On with the rigging on the Pup.
Only the aileron control wires to go, then on with the undercart,

Excellent work going on here! Very impressive indeed.
I, however, have run into another snag. I had a great plan to do a Battle of the Atlantic dual build with the Swordfish for this campaign and an Avenger for the Grumman campaign. Unfortunately, this arrived yesterday from the fine folks at Sprue Brothers:
I have discovered that this kit is getting harder to find so I scraped up enough pennies and now, well, here we are. Oh dear, what shall I do?

Aileron control wires fitted. interesting to see the difference between the upper & lower wings.
Finally the undercarriage legs & spreader painted & ready for assembly.
Hope to have her sitting on her wheels today.

Tyres and bungie cords painted (Parts A27).
And she is on her undercart.
All nice and square, the rigging is some way from perfect, but good enough for a first attempt in this scale.
Just the prop & the gun to do.
