I am calling her done. I need to fix one gun barrel that got knocked off, but otherwise she is all set. The plane itself is probably imaginary, as I based it on a scheme in an Eduard kit except I changed the tail number. I liked the red tail as a pop of color.
Kit is OOB except for some EZ-Line used for the landing gear cables. Paint is Tamiya for the major areas and exterior, and Vallejo for the interior (IP, mostly). Coated in Future and then hit with some Dullcote to take down the shine. Decals were beaten into submission by Tamiya decal set. Kit was pretty easy but I seemed to have some minor cowling issues no one else seems to have mentioned.
Okay, what are we doing next?

Thanks for the extension Michael!! Has been a very strange (and long) 90 days!!
Anyway, progress has been made on my Arma 1/72 PZL P.11c:
Their "expert" PE set for the cockpit. Yup, there are 12 pieces there as well as a few of my own. Why they didn't do PE rudder pedals is a little beyond me....but:
Replaced plastic barrels w/stainless steel tubing with their PE parts:
The front office just prior to closing the fuselage:
.....AND....here it be just a an hour or so ago:
Getting there! Major construction is about over....can't wait to start airbrushing. Used this kit to try a few new techniques. It's a very nice kit but nowhere near anything "shake n bake". Due to it being so small (1/72) it will try your patience and experience in a couple areas but it builds up nice.

Hi all!
Lagging behind, though my cockpit and engine are done! Gonna try a new technique for me, using superglue to close the fuselage up. Wish me luck! Though tried it on the cowling and it turned out ok.

Shell: Nice work on this plane. It looks very fine. I like the fiddly wiring in the main wheel well very much. Congrats .
Chaz: Wow the PZL is really nicely detailed!
John: I never tried to glue the fuselage with super glue. Is it better for grinding?
FirstSergeant: Great looking bird. Congratulation!

great work everyone.
i've made some progress on my stormovik build. did some pre shading and tried something new for me, spyaying black and white blotches before the color coat. seen it done here and i liked the effect. you can see it a little on the photo of the underside. even though i applied the blotches heavier than on the top side i got a little over zealous spraying the blue underside and covered up some of the effect.

i will be doing a black/green topside.can someone recommend a black to use? i plan on using flat black lightened with some white. i was thinking about nato black too but it is closer to black-green to me and i read that russian aircraft didn't use this shade.

Today is the 80th anniversary of Soviet invasion on Poland.
According to the German–Soviet Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Demarcation, signed just week before WW2 between German Third Reich and Russian Soviet Union, the Russia and Germany have agreed upon mutual non-aggression and mutual help in case of war. The unofficial part of the agreement was about aggression on — and division of — Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Romania, in order to expand the territories of Third Reich and Soviet Union.
On the 17 September 1939 Soviet Union joined its ally — German Third Reich and started so-called “liberalization of western Ukraine”.
So, here is my starting photo.
I wanted to do this particular car — a BA-20 from the German–Soviet military parade in Brest-Litovsk, held on September 22, 1939.
But after reading about the issues with the turret of the late BA-20 ( https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/missinglynx/ba-20-replacement-wheel-tires-t102506-s10.html
and https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/missinglynx/fixes-to-my-hobbyboss-ba-20-build-t102559.html ) I decided to switch to a different car.
And here it is, meeting between German and Soviet officers at Lublin, Poland.
The photograph was taken on September 25, 1939 at the front of the polish governmental building, there is still Coat of arms of Poland on the wall. The building was not destroyed during the war. It belongs to Marie Curie-Sklodowska University nowadays.
https://lublin.fotopolska.eu/1134918,foto.html
In order to do my car I have to steal the turret from the earlier version of BA, strangely named mod.1939 by Hobby Boss which is not true.
Here is current state of my build.

Progress on my FW 189. Nearly at the finish line. Matt coat will be applied now, then glass elements, then canopy and some final weathering. I have had big isues with wash. I wanted to experiment with oil paints and it backfired quite badly. I will have a lot of questions about that later.

Hi all,
Time for another update! This is a nifty little kit! I've only got two minor complaints. First the sprue gates to the parts are a bit thick, requiring additional clean-up, nothing too big. The other is that Hobby boss did over-engineer the main landing gear, again, no big deal. Everything went together fine, and the fit is great!
My attempt to use superglue on the fuselage could have gone better, being one of many that hate doing seam clean-up, I had higher hopes. Although, it turned out alright, with minimal clean-up, and the seams are also clean! I'll work on this procedure a bit more. It went good on the cowling, the fuselage could have gone better.
Once I had an airframe ready for paint, I did the RLM 02 Yellow, over a base coat of light gull grey. Turned out pretty nice.
Next, I masked the yellow, and did the underside in light blue, and masked, and then did a black base using Mr. Leveler 1500 black, in preparation for the upper camo.
I followed up the paint job with my mix of future, and did the decals. The kits decals are very nice, and went down with no problems. I did run into one issue that was a surprise. Apparently, a cricket was in the lacquer thinner bottle, that I didn't notice till I'd mixed my Dark Earth paint, and painted. The bug debris caused a lot of bug parts being applied to the paint job. Not a show stopper, but a set-back none the less!
The lesson here, is to hold the thinner bottle up to the light to see if there was anything in the bottle prior to having the solvent poured in!!
Still, this has been a very fun build to date!
Next up, will be the last of the little parts, and any touch-up work. I really have enjoyed this build!
John

Hi All,
I'm calling this one done, not my best, nor worst effort. Still a fun fast build!
Hope you all enjoy!
Michael, thanks so much for the five campaigns commemorating the 75th anniversary of World War II. For me, it was informative, and a great deal of fun! Thanks again!

i been quiet a while but it doesn't mean i have not been working. here is an update on my IL2. i used silly putty ropes to set the boarder for the black camo. i used model master enamel aircraft interior black for this. i then added a couple drops of white and sprayed the centers of the black camo to weather it a bit.

once dried it got a wash of dark and light browns, a glosscoat and decals.

" BORDER="0">
next is dullcoat, spray some chipping medium, then a uneven acrylic white winter camo followed by chipping and sanding away worn areas. times running out, i gotta make time this week to get it finished.

I have finished my FW 189 by ICM in 1:72. Operational unit was 1.(H)/32 stationed in Finland. Thank you for the term extension. Lot of things to improve, but overall I am quite happy with the effort. I was experimenting with few new techniques, I certainly need more practice. Model was challenging for my skill set, but not overwhelming. Very pleasant build.

Well i'm not going to have enough time to give it a white wash so i'm calling this one done for now. i will at some point do the white wash to it, i will post the photos when i do. of course i broke off all the counter balances on the wings and rudder. i think i will replace them with metal tubes like i did for the wing guns. i also used true details fast frames for the canopy.

Some great models came up here. Congrats to everyone who finished this campaign!
Joe, well done on your flying tank. I have build the twoseater some years ago. Must have been a frightening sight for the german troops to see them coming in like myriads of mosquitos ....
Shrimpman, same to you. Lovely Fw 189 there. But what happened to the rear window?
Ken, I love your Peshka! It's was such a beautiful airplane!
John, what kit is that IAR? Is it that 1/48 Hobbyboss kit? I have that somewhere in my stash. Looks good from this side of the computer.
Marek, those photos look really strange to me. I know they were reality and it's not easy to imagine that about 1 1/2 years later they were killing eachother ....
FirstSergeant, also well done on your Yak!
Shell, wonderfull Rata you have build. Like it a lot!
