Nice P-26 eMan.
I am on the down hill side with my Rufe. Just finished applying the paint. Now for some Future and decals.

What can I say, except fu#$&%g LOL? Decals are completely disintegrating just after soaking them in the water.

Bob's right, that hurts. Hope you can find some AM replacements. I've got one kit on my shelves undecaled for 20 years cause the decals exploded across the dish when they hit the water.

This kit is from 2010, so not very old. There are aftermarket decals available, but overseas, what with COVID-19 means weeks, if not months of waiting.

Damian, I ordered from S. Korea, but They are not allowed to send to the US, I am not sure about Singapore. I did order some hobby items from England and Germany that arrived in 2 weeks.

Ok, so maybe I'm a little nuts joining a Campaign so close to finishing, but I just stumbled upon this. I have a Minicraft 1/144 scale Republic P-47D-25 Thunderbolt that I have been looking for an excuse to build.
This seems a good excuse as any!

There's something wrong with those decals these days.

Jim, looks good to me. I just need my magnifying hood.
Don't worry, Bob. I'll post big photos!

I managed to get some work done on the P47, but I can't get into my gallery to upload photos. Hopefully this will get straightened out eventually.

Now that the Kitmaker Gallery is behaving, I can show you some progress photos of my P47.
The kit is definitely showing it's age as can be seen by the large gaps where the wings meet the fuselage. I'm not totally sure how they're going to clean up, but it looks like I have some more sanding to do. The (current) plan is to display this sitting on its landing gear with bombs under the wings. We'll see haw that goes.

James, I am amazed at how you are doing with the 1/144 P-47. Even if I could see well enough without a magnifying hood I still could not hold the parts without either crushing or losing them.
My Rufe is done, all that is needed now is to assemble the photo cube for the photo.

Damian, I have fixed needles in the past by rolling the needle on a metal surface to get it into a somewhat straight condition then using a vise straighten it more. While not an ideal fix it did the job.

Straighten it or break it. Anyway, it couldn't get worse. I have tried your method and somehow it works. Jet goes a bit offside but until replacement will arrive it is ok.

Good job Jim. I have always been afraid of NMF and 1/144
Again, nice job on one of my favorite a/c.
