Oh the weekend is coming foks and weather looks good! Maybe a BarBQ? Thinking burgers & brats? Fresh corn and vegs? Sodas & beer and the new cafe above ground pool.

As for movies I'll offer up
"The Great Outdoors" The bald bear always tickles my funny bone.

"Second Hand Lions" The biplane flying inverted down the highway always puts me in a good mood.

Bloody typical! Barbecue day and it rains!
Of course this is the Left Coast and really it's a surprising day when it doesn't rain but still...
Grumble.

Well, I've missed all of those so far. What's the appropriate beverage? Mead, wine or 30 yo single malt?

Yep!

Have you noticed that lots of the usual suspects are strangely silent?

Well the world of women's fashion is finally recognizing WWI aviation. Here a significant other of an Aeroscale member has taken to adding Eduard 1/48 scale lozenge to her toenails.

Member Kitboy says; "Hello, Camouflage wear today is very fashionable. To give this a different dimension, my wife and I decided to do her nails differently (being not bad at painting I ussually am hooked for doing her nails), We covered it with Lozenge decals!..."

"...Took some time to get the on, and one has to be particular careful with the nail top coat. You can only touch the decal once, otherwise it gets destroyed. I wonder how long it will last..."

Ahhh...it's 9P.M. here. After a very long and hot day full of hard work I'm having a beer while reading Aeroscale. It tastes so good... However uncle Jack D. is appointed for tomorrow. The radio plays the Hit List, current song is "The night of comet is approching" - remake of great, old hit.

I just wanted to say it is a nice evening afer a good day. I hope you can say the same.

The end to a wet weekend here. Over in my corner of the room. With hot coffee fresh bread and apple butter. The rain drizzles and the smell of clean pine replaces the smoke of the wildfires(some 60 miles distant). Planning my day job retirement means closing one chapter and writing the next. Still going to have to work for a few years and the govt is in so much trouble they are only giving me 40 of my pension. Which in total is 40 % of my current paycheck.

Planning my next "career" as it were, until 62? ". . .The Captain of a troop one day. Every neck snaps and men jump when I growl. The next day I'll be lucky of the man asks me to shoe a horse. . ."

You ever hear of Captain Ed Freeman? CMOH winner from the Vietnam war. Flew into a hot LZ 14 times wounded 4 during the efforts. He retrieved 29 men. In 1965 heros may have been flesh & blood, but were steely eyed soldiers who knew their duties. I guess its good politicians don't fight wars. We would get sold out there too.

Next movie. She wore a yellow ribbon.
