Now for dinner.
Steak and veggies (potatoes green peppers and corn on the cob) on the grill and strawberry rhubarb crisp for dinner, iced soft drinks and tea.

Hi Stephen

We always joke about two peoples separated by a common language, but the cuisine still holds some surprises. What on earth is strawberry rhubarb crisp? Those are two ingredients I can't imagine working together - but then I said that back in the '70s before my Canadian girlfriend made me try peanut butter and jelly. (Actually, I still don't eat that often, even for old times' sake. )

All the best

Rowan!
It's not a Bangers and Mash world over here! As our two languages ( US/Canadian) separate from English so do our choice of menu

Strawberry rhubarb is an amazing combination of flavours you'd never think to mix together. I think it was stolen from the gods or something.

I may have to try it some day, my mom sued to make it for my dad, but I don't recall he ever shared any with me.

In honour of the date, we will be serving Canadian specialities this evening, before the fireworks happen. We'll have Poutine, Timbits, Double double and Beaver tails along with those imported delicacies such as hamburgers, coleslaw and potato salad.

And for the entertainment, some music:

You should try papaya/mango sometime if you haven't already. That's my favorite

It seems to be a bit quiet in general on the forums. Perhaps it is a seasonal thing as the North enters autumn and in the South spring is busting out all over.
More modelling in the better weather is something I am planning...

Ain't that the darn truth. Been getting quieter around here for some time. A lot less build threads, and for the most part a lot less general good nature banter. Hoping that things will turn around, but for that to happen those that really care about Aeroscale need to step up and become more active again.

I use to spend a good hour every morning with my coffee here, now I can go through the same sections/forums in 15 min or so.

Richard,
I've seen that as well. Some long time posters now rarely make an appearance these days, and some never do. There have been threads from time to time expressing their disappointment in thread posts and views. Just looking at the number for individual build thread aren't that great, but Feature articles that are the Best of the Best have almost no posts, and only a few Hundred views at best. One really needs to ask why the lack of involvement.

It's one thing not to want to post, but not even view means that they're just not visiting Aeroscale very often, or have moved on to more active or specialized sites.

I've offered changes to help promote more activity in the slower forums, changes in campaign structure, and even eliminating the gallery section, yet all of my ideas have been turned down.

While I think that campaigns are an excellent way for modelers with similar interests to meet, view, and discuss their collective builds, we have way too many running at the same time. Most are just moderately active at best with a poor completion percentage.

By staff, I'm assuming you're referring to Mods that no longer are active, yet thy still are listed as moderators.

I bought a Tamiya Spitfire from my LHS and he said; "That will keep you occupied for the day."
He was fascinated when I explained how long it would probably take to build and stunned at the fact it would be in storage for some years before it becomes a project!

Bar keep! Get me a double of the single malt, ice on the side...

Some of the chief troublemakers (including me) around here have been kinda quiet for a bit. I've got a new job that is eating into my modeling time. I leave for my 4th trip to Malaysia, since mid June tomorrow. Damian, one of our favorite victims, just had a baby, OK his wife had the baby, but little ones really eats into free time. I'll that Jessica's pink fingernail polish has dried out since it's been so long since she got to paint D's toenails.

Quiet as a tomb in here. Have to find the light switches. Ahh, better now. Guess I'll have to dust/clean a bit first. Hmmm, not much in the fridges and what's there smells a bit nasty.

Hope everyone's doing all right! Been a while since I've been here, but coming back now and then.

Hopefully, we can all get together now and then for the upcoming holidays!

Cheers to you all (with a Coke in my case ),

Careful now that could be one of D's Vegemite sandwiches.

Yeah, make sure you wear gloves, in fact I would wear 2 pairs just to be safe!

Can I have a small salad to go with it, and a bourbon on ice?

Cheers, D
