NONONONONONONONONONO.... It is a Soviet Airforce Aircraft in Korea. At least it is what it says but I am positively sure that it is a Russian scheme. Thanks for the color correction...

Hi all!

Ooops, I didn't paid attention to the fact that Rick's Mig carried North Korean markings... my fault. I will accept his entry though. But Yalım please, apply soviet markings to your MiG.
I spotted another "probem" with Stephen Lawson's entry: his Fokker D.VII carries no stars. But here also I will accept his entry.

Automaton, I think you are too hard on yourself. Your Yak looks very good!

Hi Jean-Luc

That's exactly what my wife said.

Maybe it's just that I'm a bit paranoid over this group build: I mean, we all know what happens when Comrade Stalin isn't happy with the work one's Zavod is producing . . .

Seriously, I don't think it's absolutely terrible, but it's not something I'd take to a contest. I tend to be somewhat inconsistent in my modelling--I sometimes go through a "bad patch" , and that REALLY happened on this one.

When I grow up, I want to be able to build like, say, you or Merlin.

Cheers

Merry Christmas all! I've got the basic colours on. I experimented with using liquid mask but I wasn't happy with the results and had to smooth out the camo edges with a brush. I hope to get the decals on tonight.

Complete! Its no award winner and I can see lots of points I'd do differently next time but all in all I'm pretty happy with it. Jean-Luc thanks for a fun campaign - it really got me motivated to get off my butt and get something done.

One more Mig-21 for the collection.

Hello Everyone,

Gary, Very nice job on your MIG-21 and your collection looks good as well. I was able to get some work done on my MIG-29, unfortunately I work Sunday so I won't get anything done tomorrow. I painted the cockpit and some other little detail items. Then applied a gloss coat in prep for the decals and started painting the missiles.

Sincerely,
Brian

Hi all!

Brian, don't rush, you have until January 15th to finish your entry.

Gary, nice one! Congratulations! You are "Hero of the Soviet union" now!

Jean, that's too bad. Maybe you can build your La-7 for the "Battle for Europe" Campaign.

Hi Yalım!

As I said previously in the thread, I will accept entries until January 15th. You have two more weeks to finish your VVS models. I will award the ribbons as soon as possible to those who have finished though...

This is Eduards Weekend kit. It went together OK, but not as good as most of Eduards offerings. I did it over the weekend to get it done before the deadline. So it is a rush job. No weathering has been done, nor do I plan to.

Hi all!

Here is an updated table of the VVS Campaign. Following Staline's methods, you may notice that I've "eliminated" all the entries which have not been started. I've sent them to the Gulag Camp!

I've already awarded the ribbons to those who have finished their entries. It should appear on your profile page.
19 models have been completed by 18 participants, thanks you very much!
13 models are still on the workbench and I hope some of them will make it into the final list until January 15th. Good Luck!

Yalım, if you happen to finish your MiG, I will ask Chuck to reopen the Campaign so you will be able to enlist and receive the ribbon.

Hi all,

Well, I coudn't get my La-7 done in the last day of 2007 I started applying decals last night and am in the final stages and since Jean-Luc was kind enough to extend the deadline another 15 days I SHOULD have it done by then. If not, I will blast it with my shotgun and blame it on flak!

Thanks for the ribbon and for a well run campaign! Great that you took over the campaign although it was originally proposed by somebody else.

Looking forward to see the last entries

Well,

I have to bow out, even with the extension. The landing struts of the La-7 have gone M.I.A. Both are off the sprue and who knows where they reside now. I'm not building over carpet so the Carpet Monster is not to blame. I may try to scratch build some but it will take a while. to say the least as I was on short final for completion. Eduard cockpit zoom, resin wheels, Paint, decals, Future, all that was left was to attach the prop, gear and weathering. and...

Hi all!

Wow! I didn't though that sending some to the Gulag Camp would have such an impact! Sorry for the bad news Derek but wouldn't it possible to display your model like eMAn: in flight? I think his R-10 makes a very nice desktop model.

Jean-Luc and all,

I appologize for my massive profane cook-off. I have calmed down.... I think I will scratch build the parts needed. The missing pieces are not the main landing gear but the hydraulic actuators (?). It think this will be a easier option than building it for in flight, though I had not thought of that as an option.

The threat of a gulag is enough to figure something out though!!!
