Hi all,
Just a quick progress report on my MiG-3. Almost done, decals, a wash and some more weathering and it's done.

There is only two kinds of fires. Those that use less than 500 gallons of water too extinguish and those that use WAY MORE!

And here comes the decals. Actually I went against the building instructions and gave two stars on the upper surface bucause I couldn't find any single stared VVS Mig-15. I take the risk for now and didn't stared the undersurface. I'll check my stash when I get back home. Yes I did the decals at work. I am a horrible employee....

Well, after a busy weekend of hockey with my kids, I thought I'd get the landing gear together for my Tu 22. Then I discovered all the axles were broken from the wheels! More repairs...arggg! I doubt if I'll be able to get then together for tomorrow. Oh well, another campaign slips past me

Finally finished the MiG-3 last night. This was my first campaign on aeroscale so I really wanted to complete it on time and, well here it is
The Zvezda kit is pretty basic, the only problems i had were major gap-filling at the wing roots and the plastic seemed strange in that when it was sanded it went kinda rubbery and soft. The decals I used were actually from the Revell Mig-3 kit and represent the famous Red 2. I opted for green wings instead of red after coming across the following website - link
http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/mig3/red02.html

Thanks to everyone, I really enjoyed my first group build comrades!!!!!

Hi all!
Wow! What a nice batch of red stars! Congratulations guys, you are "Heros of the Soviet Union" as well...
I will post the final table with all the finished entries and award the last ribbons soon.
Ryan, that's to bad. If you finish you model in the next couple of days I will award you the ribbon of course. Anyone else with an "almost" finished model on the workbench?
Jean-Luc

Oh man! I'm so sad I missed this campaign! I have 2 builds going right now that would have been perfect for it, and one of them I even started after the start date.
Oh well, that's what I get for dropping out of the forums for so long.
