Guys just to let you know that there will be a couple of 1/144 reviews that I'm doing coming up on the site in the next week or two all from a company called Brengun. US Navy oxygen carts, German 16ton portable crane and a German Draisine (armoured train-car).
If you get a chance check out the Brengun web site as they have some nice aircraft related items including those etched seat belts you've been looking for

I have been asked for more detailed images of an older diorama and have made some time to do this. You will note some various scales of WWI aircraft kits 1:27 - 1:144.

Well here's a wip that I'm building for the 'Cats out of the bag' campaign. It's a pair of Revell F-14D Tomcats on an Airfix dog fight double display stand. The F-14's will be finished as 163 & 164 of VF-101 Grim Reapers

Resin cockpit for the Dragon/DML A-6 "Slick fuselage" for the Platz A-4 (including parts to build Blue Angels birds) A4D-1 complete kit (And also a cockpit and pilot for the AFV Club Mirage 2000 Egg Plane)
Watch Internet Modeler for reviews of the contents of each piece. The A4D-1 is an excellent start for their first full kit. Hopefully they'll continue to release complete kits.
It's been quite around here of late, which must mean everyone's busy building any way here's the latest off the bench and the latest to hit the bench also.

I'm new here and glad to find others interested in small scale modeling.I've built many 1:144 scale (and smaller)kits over the years. I'm currently working on a Starfix 1:288 scale C-5 Galaxy.Looking forward to reading through the messages and admiring everyone's work.
Brief History of the F6F-3 "the Cats Mouth" Hellcat
The model represents an F6F-3 Hellcat of VF-27 as it appeared in October 1944 when it served aboard the USS Princeton. This was the only squadron of US Hellcats throughout the war that uniformly displayed markings other than those officially sanctioned by the Navy. Pilots Carl Brown, Richard Stambrook, and Robert Burnell, designed the cat-mouth markings during VF-27's training at Kahului Naval Air Station, Maui, Hawaii, in March and April 1944.
All 24 of VF-27s F6F Hellcats were so marked when the squadron embarked aboard the light carrier USS Princeton on May 29, 1944. When the Princeton was sunk by Japanese aircraft off the eastern coast of Luzon in the Philippines on October 24, the defending Hellcats were forced to recover aboard other carriers where they were promptly directed to comply with Navy regulations and eliminate the nose art.
Onto the model
Of course it's not 100% accurate but what can you do? I had hopped to add the wing gunns but it didn't pan out. To date this is the smallest kit I've ever assembled. In the end It was a tiny model that provided a great deal of fun. Money well spent i might add. If I come across this kit again I may just get a few more for another idea I have

Hi! One problem that I see is the abyssmal attempts at cockpits in this scale for a few of the available kits. I was pointed to Matador Models in another forum and liked their list of a pretty wide variety of 1/144 cockpit sets in their catalog. I have a few Arii (ex-LS) F-15 Eagles that I am about to start (one for the 1/144 campaign) and I hope that their F-15C cockpit for the Dragon/Italeri kit will fit. The Arii kit has a flashed over cockpit and nothing to go inside should you open it up.
I would like to check on the cockpit availability before I send over an order to Matador (I am in the USA). I just noticed that there is no email address listed on the web site for questions. Does anyone here happen to know a contact name/email address that I can use before I send over my order? Are there any other sources for the Matador Models cockpit sets?
Does anyone know of any aftermarket set for a F-15 cockpit that would fit an LS or Arii kit? I can scratchbuild one but I am looking for an easy way out!
Thanks for any help!
Have fun modeling!

I love this thread. Great stuff. very glad to find a cadre of 144 enthusiasts. I am doing only 144. all I have to show is some work in progress. Two Minicraft Avengers, which I am converting into post-war TBM-3 variants. the Helldiver is an Anigrand resin kit.

I agree it is very quiet, we need to get this moving again. I only finished one model lately but have several on the bench so hopefully I can post some more. For now here is my Revell Eurofighter:

Sounds interesting Paul, I just enlisted. I have to finish couple of things first and then can start, looks like new Revell F-15 or F/A-18 might be good candidates...or perhaps something WW II from Platz or Sweet...we'll see.

Jonathan speaks soothly. Entry is indeed open to anyone. Just go to the Campaigns page, find "Small is Beautiful" and click that ENLIST button. Come one, come all! Join the fun!
