Thanks Jim! I recently completed a pair of Eduard MiG-15s too:



The MiG-15 NO-37 was the mount of Lt. Jaroslav Sramek, 5th Fighter Regiment, Plzen-Line Air Base. On March 10, 1953, Lt. Sramek shot down a USAF F-84 Thunderjet that had intruded into Czech airspace.


The other MiG-15 is in the livery of the 29th Guards, Dachang Air Base, China. The Soviet 29th Guards Fighter Air regiment fought in Korean War (with Chinese-marked aircraft) from November 1950 to February 1951.


These Eduard 1/144 kits are amazing - every bit as good as the better 1/72 kits out there!

Those MiGs are great! I have been thinking of picking up some more 1/144 fighters, and the MiG-15 is definitely on the list. As are the F6F Hellcat & P-51 Mustang.

Back in January 2019, Mark Felton did an episode on the MiG-15 vs. F-84 dogfight over Czechoslovakia. Pretty informative.

So, it might not be pretty, but it's done. And it looks like a Thunderbolt. The fit was pretty bad, and the decals gave me a lot of trouble, but the kit is from 1997 so what can you really expect. I'm happy with the results, and I think it'll look ok on the shelf.

Whoooow. I can feel your pain just from the screen. At the end of the day it looks like a Jug, "well done" I say. Do not underestimate 1997, there were a few good 1/144 kits in taht era. Namely Revell F-14 or the Dragon kits...I correct myself on Dragons....

PS: Is there a reason I cannot see certain images on the Forum, i.e. Tim's Migs?...or my signature banner?

Thanks, Yalým. It was a tough little kit, but it hasn't dissuaded me from 1/144 kits. I'd like to try my had at the Eduard/Platz F6F-5 Hellcat, the MiG-15, or P-51D; but we'll see.
