Hi all!

Sorry for the late reply Ayhan... Your MiG-29 looks great and I thank you for having participated to the Mark Sharp Campaign with such a nice model.

I've made a table for this Campaign (it was about time I know) and so far we have 30 participants, 12 models that have been started and 4 finished entries. There are a little bit more than two months to go so I hope we will have a lot more.

As always, if I made a mistake or forgot something, please tell me.

These are my progress on the the F-4EJ and F-15C

F-4EJ

This F-4EJ is a very old 72nd ith raised panel lines(if there is any) from Hasegawa. I got this cheap from ebay.. It will be build oob without any mod... but the decals looked very dangerous very yellow and may break if not careful...

F-15C

This is my first F-15, a 72nd from Italeri. Mold looks ok and so does the decals.. though still need some filling and sanding down. Also will be build oob with the provided decals..

Hello everyone,

After looking over the table and viewing what people are building. I finally decided on this for my project:

I will get started soon. I just finished a MIG-29 for the VVS build and I have a P-39 going now for the Rumble and I am decaling a Super Etendard for the Falklands War build.

Sincerely,
Brian

Hi Eerie!

Nice that you find a way to do the "Remove Before Flight" tags. It's a nice touch to the model indeed. Did you print them yourself?

Anyway, thanks a lot for participating to this Campaign!

Yes i printed them myself, this is my first F-16 and a first 1/48 kit i build from Academy, there are some fitting problems especially the canopy to the cockpit. ITs rather loose. Nevertheless, i m gonna work on an Israeli Netz next.

Hello everyone,

Even though I have more than enough projects at the moment. I could not help myself and I started on the OA-4M Skyhawk. It went together without any trouble and I really like the looks of it. I plan on using something from the hasegawa weapons set for it as well.

Sincerely,
Brian

and disaster struck...

The Apache can't be finished... the ordered decals are not there, I spent too much time on the guardian angel campaign.... and the apache needs quite a bit of work

Plan B is in the making to enable to finish something for this campaign.

It must be somethign relatively modern and fast to build....

Hi Jean-Luc,

I've changed my mind (I'm not doing it just to make you rewrite your table!). I'm going for the more modern choice, i.e. the Saab JAS 39A Gripen. Firstly, I believe that this subject is more in line with the title of this campaign. Secondly, how can one not want to build such a beautiful aircraft?!?

I've started building the Italeri 1/72 kit (with some extras from Pavla, Part and TwoBobs). Here is a sneak preview of the cockpit area, where I've also added some strue cables etc. This is my first truly modern aircraft, so I'm relying heavilly on reference photos. More updates to follow!

These 1/72 cockpits are tiny! Me like it!

Cheers! // PolarBear

Hi Björn!

No problem, the Gripen is a very nice entry for this Campaign...

I can't wait to see more pictures of the build.

At Jean-Luc's request I am adding my Mitsubishi XF-2A to the campaign. The kit is Hasegawa 1/48. I will be building in this configuration

Small update - I managed to squeeze the cockpit in! Since I'm going to have the canopy open, I wanted it to fit ok. I put quite a lot of work into the wee cockpit. With a tad of pursuation and a lot of force, I managed to get it in!

The Italeri kit need some work, some carving and some putty, but I think it is going to be nice representation of the Gripen. I've cut of most of the small fins, antennas etc off, and I plan to replace them with PE from Part. I've also cut of the inner section of the trailing edge flaps, since they always have a noticeable droop when the aircraft is parked.

Cheers! // PolarBear

Ps. Don't forget the photo-reconnaissance campaign that I'm trying to get started. More partcipants needed! Click the banner!

Ps 2. Building modern aircraft is fun! (Why haven't anybody told me that before?) I might even do another one after the Gripen (perhaps an F-16I Sufa?)

Hello all! I'm entering this Campaign with Tamiya's A10A Thunderbolt II

Fresh outta the box...

First received this on 28-12-07 before i joined this site...

Fuselage, the kit came in dark green and i'll be painting her up in the modern Iraq/A-stan colour scheme... The old green camouflage somehow gives me the creeps, besides... I'm not really sure how to do camouflage schemes...

Here's the pilot, sitting atop a bottle of Tamiya acrylic paint enjoying the view... (Still considering whether to put him in the cockpit or not, help me decide guys!)

Her engine (Btw, i use nail clippers to remove bits of leftover sprues... Further sanding is done with abrasive paper)

Tail

Her underbelly...
