Hi Nektarios
As Carl writes your Concorde would be fine for this campaign. We need more civilian aircrafts in the forum.

Thanks Jesper I will probably go after market and may look at one of the aerobatic teams that used the Hunter, but first I have to buy the kit! The Hunter was certainly supersonic in a dive but not in level flight. Could be a neat model

Signed up.
I have about 30 kits in the stash that would qualify for this campaign, I'll think I will just throw a dart over my shoulder and see which one it hits

We need some early aviation speeders in here.

I've got a Wright Flyer in the stash, that should qualify, even at 38mph

Andrew, the Wright flyer would qualify! It could be cool to have the two extremes represented in the campaign. The Wright flyer at the lowest speed and the SR-71 Blackbird at three times the sound of speed. As I recall Stefan already planned for the Blackbird.

Welcome onboard, Seth. I am looking forward to see your F-15 take to the sky

Would be great to see Concorde, there is one near me, I must get over and get some shots for a walkaround.
Let me know when you are planning to start and I'll try and get over before then. Also if there is a particular shot you'd want let me know. Can't promise my photography will be any good though. No reason not to build two though

OK Wright Flyer should be fun and even I can't mess up that cockpit. I will need som e rigging details tho, as the Revell kit doesn't look quite right in that area. Ah, snag, I think the kit is larger than 1/32, I'll check when I get home
I guess it must qualify for a speed record if it is the first ever!

This has the makings of an "I can't wait to start" campaign

I am quite sure it is actually a mistake that the upper limit in scale is 1/32. Carl is the main man of this campaign, but as second in command I do not see a problem with scales bigger than 1/32 - especially not for the Wright flyer. So continue your research.
@Nektarios, very difficult choice. The only real solution would be to build both

Go with what your guts tell you. Both builds will be 100% within the rules and the spirit of the campaign.

No penalty if you do both. I just ordered another Eduard Mirage III CJ. Its pretty fast. It is good to have choices.
As for breaking the sound barrier in a dive. Trans-sonic is trans-sonic. If you can document it, build it.
Wright flyer? I welcome it to the campaign.
Seth will be doing a F-15e
Just think of all the possibilities that are going unclamed. Jesper can't build them all.

Good one
I am actually planning two builds. A mach 1 jet and a Bf 109 as second build. We will see if there is time.
Speed on!

Revell Wright Flyer is 1:39 scale, well inside the 1:32 scale upper limit. Phew! but your kind words noted. Just had a quick look at the kit, painting and decals (none) are a doddle, but rigging will be a nightmare - still it will certainly make a change from all the jets

Must it be a manned aircraft? As a change of pace I might try a scratch x-43.

Manned or unmanned. We never considered this, did we? You cant really feel the speed if you are not in a speedy thing. But the campaign is all about speed. I am inclined to say build it. After all, speed is speed.
Something else comes to mind. Rockets. Space shuttle. They will work also.

I'll probably make something else too, most likely with a prop and floats. But I thought I'd cut my scratch building teeth with something fairly regularly shaped. Lots of three views of it on the internet too. Might be fun, which I guess what is it all about.

Hi!
I'd really like to join but I cannot say if I find enough time then (it is too far from today to even guess

).
My first thought was F-117 but this brick does not even beats 1Mach...

Maybe F-15 or F-16... F-14 has also sentimental meaning for me: Top Gun is a movie of my youth

.
Carl, you had great idea for a ribbon, but I haven't seen if anybody made you one. So here is my try - if you like it: it's yours

. If you want to have anything changed (colors etc) just PM me!
Here is big one:

and here is "Campaign friendly format" (1Kb GIF, 50x20).

I'll try to join you guys later this year (this would be my first plane model since about 1988 (20 years...

))

nektarios, you are a mind reader. Bonnie isn't she? Looks like she should go much faster than the paper plane that is an X43
