Hi Steffen
I'm glad you got your Do 17 OK and thanks for the link to the razor saw. That really does look useful - I'll try to remember to get one as part of my next HLJ order.

Some great looking kits there Lucky, but aren't they the wrong scale .

Andy I do make some exceptions to my normal scale, those being Bristols, Italian, FAA and Fw-190's.
You've got to love twin Bristols

Hi Luciano
beautifull stuff ... much to complicated for a simple mind like myself ...
and it is exactly the right scale, Andy .. the only true scale

Steffen, Andy's remark was ment for me as I normally build the only true scale 1/144
Running ducking for cover.

Hi Luciano
Sure, suum cuique
.. for me it is 1/48 though I would take 1/144 as "space scale" .... Mir, ISS and the like are just tooo large in 1/48
cheers

Hi there
Well, I think my entry for the Battle For Europe Campaign just got larger... a LOT larger! This beauty was waiting for me at Castle Aeroscale this morning!
I'll get cracking on the Review ASAP and then do a Campaign build/blog. I'd better finish that Zero quickly! LOL!
All the best

WOW!!! Check that out!
She's gonna be a fair sized bird. I was quite surprised at the wingspan of the 1/48 BF-110 on my bench at the moment so I reckon the 32nd will be a monster!
I look forward to the review

Hi Howard
Yes... figuring out where I can actually build the beast is going to present a bit of a "logistics" problem! Just looking at the parts on the sprues, it's bigger than my current free work-space - and the completed airframe will definitely be MUCH larger than the area I've got set aside for painting! So it could be fun! I think a bit of domestic re-planning will be the order of the day...

Hi guys!
This arrived from with the mailman today!
"I think I'm going japanese, I think I'm going japanese, I really think soo.....". If anyone thought that my "rumble in the far east"-project was over with the campaign (that ended a long, long time ago) - think again. Here are both a Shoki and a Raiden from Fujimi 1/144.
Cheers! // Polarbear

Hi Steffen
Does it cover the 'H? When I produced the old Blueprint Models conversion years ago, any trustworthy info on it was as hard to find as hens' teeth!

Hi Björn
nice little meat balls .. mucho too small for my clumsy fingers.
Hi Rowan
no this is just about F, G, K. The H series was derived from the E Series. I can recommend Francis Marshalls
"Messerschmitt Bf 109T - der Jäger der Graf Zeppelin"
(there was an earlier English edition too). And then there is Kjetil Aakra's
Messerschmitt Bf 109T - Tarnanstriche und Markierungen also available in English Profiles in Norway.
Vol. 1 of Lynn Ritger'S work is home in Schwerin, and I am not sure if the H is covered, but the Marshall book is the work on that subject (even if it is incomplete as much info is lost and maybe has the one and other error)

Hi Steffen
Surprise, surprise, I actually consulted with Francis on the Blueprint 'T conversion.
If I remember rightly, the info I had at the time was that the 'H was based on an 'F - but I'd have to wade back through a load of old refs to be sure. I know a lot of the info available was incorrect and some just didn't add up at all. I think an old issue of Airpower was most help, along with Flugzeug magazine. I should try to dig out a couple of the old Blueprint kits one day for nostalgia's sake.
All the best

Don't mean to cut in but the postman being so kind to me decide to give me
Eduards Fokker D.VII #8132 , Hasegawa Typhoon Mk.IB # jt59 and Italeri Spitfire Mk.Vb #oo1
I really don't do 1/72 but I'm looking forward on building the spitfire .
Also a bottle of Tenax 7-R and this neet glass tube with a very fine steel tube on the end for appling the glue . no more brushes for me !

that's a nice collection .. well, except the Spit ... wrong scale (no, I do not want to start a war about the "right" scale)

Well it wasn't the postman, but my LHS was having a sale so I had to add a Roden 1/48 Bristol F.2B Fighter with Sunbeam Arab engine, a Roden 1/72 Felixstow F.2A late version and two Revell 1/72 Hawker Hurricane's a Mk.IIB and a Mk.IIC to the stash
Don't know if you can spot the trend, but in two weeks I've added 3 1/48 Bristol F.2B's to the stash.
Steffen does that Bf-109 book cover the Italian use of the G and K?

Hi Luciano
yes there is a short passage in the book, but I think you will be better served to get the book "Air War Italy 1944-45: The Axis Air Forces in Italy June 1944-May 1945 " (Beale, D'Amico, Valentini), which I sadly missed when it was available for a good price .. one day I'll get it. Also nice is the Classic book on Italian (ANR) colours:
Camouflage and Markings of the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana 1943-1945: A Photographic Analysis Through Speculation and Research (Camouflage & Markings) (D'Amico, Valentini)
Also helpful (and quite cheap) might be "Ali straniere in Italia No. 1 - Messerschmitt Bf 109" by Gregory Alegi & Marco Gueli. (http://www.apostoloeditore.com/Home.htm)
Maybe you already have all those.
I would not buy the SAMI book for the Italian part but it is a good addition to my library from the modelling point of view (the early Bf 109s book was more welcome because there is no such work as Priens "Bf 109 F,G,K series ..." still my bible on the hundertneun but not free of errors)

Cheers Steffen, yes I have some of those books already and more but you can never have to much ref material.
One book I love is the Italian Air Force in colour photos, all taken during the war on Kodak film stock and published during the war in magazine format, but re-published as a book a few years ago.

Rowan , I tried the glue applicator and I love it . Better control over the amount of glue that is being applied . Very easy tool to use . Just rest it the glue jar for a few minutes and it fills up . The longer you leave it the more it fills up . Just have to touch the part with glue and a small drop comes out . For doing seems just drag it along and out comes the glue . Glue doesn't drip out when it's laid down on the work bench so no mess . If glue is still inside of the glass tube , touch the inside of the glass jar and the gjue drains out . No waste !
Only draw back is don't drop it ! It's made of glass !!!!!
I was going to take a pic of this but the batteries are dead in my camera .
All in all I real like this method of appling glue . Don't know it it will work for all gluing needs but it's a good start .

Hi again Terri
What make is it and where did you buy it? I'll have to see if any of my usual haunts have one - it definitely sounds worth trying.

Rowan I'm not sure of the make . It came in the kit with the Tenax glue along with two sizes of micro brushes . I have seen it addvertize in older issues of fine Scale Modeller . I believe Mirco mark has them for sale still . wish I could be more helpful towards this but I no longer have the packaging . Hannants and Squadron should have this tool as well . I'lll call the shop where I pick this up and ask them .............................

I think I'm pinned down a probable match - the Flexi-File "Touch 'N Flow", but I haven't found it available in the UK yet. The hunt is on!
