A quick snapshot of one of the Mark58 bases now residing in my display cabinet.
And talking of bases, on my last visit to Halesworth observing the slow destruction of the perimeter track by contractors, I took the opportunity of "liberating" a couple of sections of peri track from around the old dispersal area of the 61st FS 56th FG. Not quite "what postie bought" but more of a "I bet posties glad he didnt have to carry this"
Heres a "1:48th" size piece, with a T'bolt on it to show the effect.
I intend to mount the piece of peri track on a base to level it off.

Hi Nige,
Nice touch with the perimeter track, good to see a small bit of history being retained.
I have a small piece of turf I 'liberated' from Beaumont Hamel in my garden, hallowed ground for me, one of my great uncles was killed there in 1916. Helps one remember.

I don't know if these even belong in this thread, as only two thirds of this stuff was actually brought by the postman, and none of it today...
Here goes anyway.
Well, at least this one I bought today -->
It'll make a nice companion to the Revell F-13 variant I built earlier.
Now this stuff was actually brought by the postman.
The air hose and quick disconnect adapter arrived this week on Tuesday, the airbrush (say hello to my new little friend...) I bought way back in the summer.
To make my Badger 360 fit the quick disconnect system (no more changing air hoses when switching between ABs!), I bought an adapter (on the left, above the second quick disconnect upper piece) to make it fit the Iwata-style piece of the adapter, but it was missing an O-ring, causing it to leak. I contacted the seller and he promised to send the seal ASAP.

Eetu, do you have the part numbers for the quick release as these could be useful for my 2 badger airbrushes?
Not quite what the postie brought... but why is it when I order from Hannants online it seems to take twice as long as it would ringing the order through I ordered some stuff from them well over a week ago now and still nothing through the letterbox

Sorry, I don't know the part number. Bought it from Ebay, seller named airbrushsupplier.
Note that you need that adapter to fit Badger airbrushes to it.

You're welcome.
Also keep in mind that the quick disconnect device fits into Iwata-type hoses.
I had a coiled vinyl hose that came with my compressor and a shortish braided badger hose that accompanied my Badger AB.
As I wanted to keep the amoun of additional adapters as minimal as possible, and have a bit longer hose to act as a sort of an airtank subsitute (I got a basic Sparmax compressor without a tank), I bought a 10' Iwata hose as well.

KAMIKAZES, CORSAIRS, & PICKET SHIPS
Okinawa 1945
Robin L. Rielly
6 x 9, 448 pages, b/w photos throughout, maps, 978-1-932033-86-1, $34.95, hardback, Casemate
"This is the previously untold story of one of the most ferocious and prolonged air/naval battles ever: the battle at the radar picket stations during the American assault on Okinawa in the spring of 1945."
Our friends at Casemate have provided an advanced copy of their newly published book. A Full Review is forthcoming, but I'm not a speed reader so it will be a week or so.

Bonanza today,
Revel 1:72 Fokker d.vii, thats two versions of the d.vii i've got now rodens and revell. Roden is much better, but there are lots of spares in the kit so I might be able to do something with the revell. it is only a few pounds anyway.
Micro sol and set, looking forward to getting these as I have a pig of a build with the kitech F-117, huge raised panel lines. Plus the tiger i'm building has zimmerit so this will help
A JLC razor saw now I can cut resin and plastic properly
Best of all. Eureka XXL 1/72 towing cable for a tiger.

And more stuff
the mags are samples .. nonetheless very good stuff.
I ordered the kit from Lucky, because I wanted to try how this would work .. It did pretty good .. I think the customs had fun to check the kit, just to find out it is only 11US$ worth still it is quite a nice kit. It has this orange peel that some Dragon early kits had (e.g MiG-15) .... just polished the fuselages halfs (both) in about 10 minutes .. nothing too serious.
Now I need to find decals for the French machines that was used in Israel during the Suez crises and got Israeli national signs there just to prevent being shot down by the Israelis .. I think there was an article in Airmag .. but I am not sure if there are decals ... anyone has an idea ??..

Spoke to Hannants today as my order still hasn't arrived. I've been told that it was sent on Wednesday so it should be here tomorrow. I'll post some pics when they arrive.
The interesting gem of information was that the staff member did say that if you want something quickly its best to ring an order through rather than on-line ordering.

Wow Daniel ..
you are putting a lot of money in your library .. very good!!!
Good choices too except Stormbird rising .. I found that very diappointing. Butcher bird may also not be the very best book on the Fw 190 ... I have Rodeikes book which is my Fw 190 bible as far as fighters are concerned and Griehls Fw 190 book was also quite good (the German edition has a blue cover .. there were 3 in that series which are pretty good. Ju 87, He 111 and Fw 190 ... I do not know if they were published by Schiffer and how the look)
Dietmar Herrmanns books on the Ta 152 and Ta154 are nice (I am pretty sure the first was published in english too)
but as I said all in all very good addition to the library, wish I could spend that much money to complete my own ....
all the best
