Hi Andy

I wish we had a Modelzone on the Isle of Wight (although perhaps it's better for my wallet that we don't! ) - their regular bargains are something I really miss from living in London!

All the best

the postman dropped off:
Squadron Signal AH-1 Walk Around. AH-1 In Action and the F-16 Walk around
This will make my Academy f-16 and Ah-1W builds much nicer. I also scored a great contact in the USAF (aircraft crew chief) who has shot an entire photo walk around oh his dirtiest F-16 in Iraq for me to model! No clean birds for me.

Always wanted one of those

I'll share this with you if you've not seen it before. MAJOR quality build.

It'll either inspire or depress you. The guy is a swiss watchmaker and this is his plaything.

You going to build this for the seaplane campaign? Don't let it rot in the stash

A cheeky bid on an auction on ebay netted me this.

It may only be a fraction of the size of the airfix builds we'd be seeing but I
could buy ten of these to the price of one airfix kit. Look forward to smuggling it
past frau kommandant.

Hi again

Well, the post is finally being delivered on the Isle of Wight again! Yesterday I got a letter posted on December 17th - but it was my Income Tax demand, so I'm not complaining that it was slow!

Yesterday also brought a test-shot of Dragon's new 1:48 Bf 110D, but I've agreed not to show any pics of the parts until I get the all clear from them, so today is my first proper "Postie" day. This was waiting for me when I got home this afternoon:

I've wanted one of these assembly jigs for ages, and I ordered it as soon as it was confirmed that the Silver Wings Seagull II/III kit was on the way. Looking at all those struts I think I'm going to need it...

I'll review the jig once I've had a chance to give it an outing.

All the best

Hi Eetu and Steffen

Ooh - those look fun! Do you fancy doing doing reviews?

And talking of reviews, a great bundle of upgrades came in today from Pavla!

Contributor writers - I'll be looking for reviewers for these goodies!

All the best

Hi again

Post on a Sunday!? Whatever next! Well, credit where it's due - Royal Mail are doing their best to wade through the recent backlog of undelivered post, and 3 x packages just arrived!

The first two contained the original test-shots of Dragon's new Bf 110D (overtaken by the replacements that Dragon sent weeks later!), and the third was a little bundle of goodies I ordered from Model Hobbies a while ago:

Hi Rowan

Very nice! .. could you send one of the test shots to J-L so we can get a build report in a few weeks?

cheers

Hi Steffen

I certainly considered that - but, sadly, Dragon don't want these early test-shots built (or to go public) because they're still making a number of tweaks and adjustments. At the moment, these are just to compare the parts against downloaded instructions to look for typos etc. They've promised to send an updated test-shot sometime in the next week or so.

Hi again

Not yet, I'm afraid. I did ask if I could reveal details, but Dragon have asked me to wait. Hopefully they'll give the all-clear soon.

I prefer not. I don't think I would have the time anyway. As for my opinion, I'm sure you have both more knowledge about the subject than me...

But I will definitely get one when it will be released since it offers other building possibilities than the Eduard one.

Hi Michal

no idea what you are talking about? What animal is a "Me-110"? I did(do) not want a sample, Jean-Luc neither?

So what the hell are you trying to say?

Rowan , I have the Giava kit on the Bristol Scout and it is a very nice kit I just need the Windsock datafile and I will be set to go .

Nice haul every one !

Only thing which has come in the mail of late is Toko kit of the SSW D.III/IV in 72 scale . The box is in really bad shape but the all the parts are fine with no damage .

It would also be nice to see more WW 1 stuff up for us reviewers .......
