Carl, thanks a bunch for the heads-up. It's always great to know that someone else has done a kit before you so you don't have to go through any particular headaches yourself.
As I said, this'll be my first bi-wing aircraft so I'm gonna do loads of dry fitting and the rest will be research and OJT.
Hermon
This is not typical of biplanes. You build it with the top wing attached first, then attach the lower wings to that. It caught me by surprise. But the engineering of the kit lends supports this backwards strategy, and really works well.

Look what I found in the Between the Wars Campaign. This guy is one talented builder.
The upper wing cheveron for this specific example is the same color as the wing. The fine black outlines are provided as decals.
The cockpit is very nice and simple. It does have all the details correct and well defined as far as my limited references show. It is unfortunate my camera does not do justice to this little gem.
The bracing wires are provided as PE. It is a little hard to use, but looks convincing when finished.
The decal below the cockpit is a shooting star and says Fighting Six. You need a microscope to read it though.
Looks just like the picture, doesn't it?

Welcome aboard, Anthony!
Westland Wyvern was a carried based plane, so it qualifies. You can join by yourself by going to Airedale Navy and clicking enlist button above the names.

I don't think I'll have time to build my Wyvern with all the wing fold, cockpit and exhaust upgrades
in the timeframe what with having the house rebuilt and all.
So I've opted for the easy route of a tamiya corsair f-4d. I picked this up second hand and it included
the eduard zoom set for the cockpit a nice bonus.
This'll be my third tamiya kit of the year. I'm being easy on myself and I need airbrush practice so
this is the best way when you don't need to worry about construction and get to the painting stage quick.

I'm in. I'm thinking about a Hellcat that I have wanted to build for a long time. 1/32 F6F-5. That sounds like a good idea. Gonna be fun.

Hi Jon you really aught to wait for the campaign date to start your build.
How far have you got? Perhaps post a picture of your current progress
as a taster, and then wait till May day to let the rest of us get in formation.
Maybe I've misread your post and you've not started in which stand easy
till May.
3 weeks to go.

Folks,
OK.....we're closing in on the start date for this campaign. Should be quite an interesting group of builds. Not exactly sure yet of which I'll go with, but it will be in 1/144th scale. So we'll see which one fires me up the most.
So what is everyone else going to build ? Any decisions yet ? Getting ready for this one, Semper Fi, Gang !

I have visited friend who is running modell shop near my place and I knew now what I will be doing. My choice is SBD-5 Dauntless ex Accurate Miniatures in Italeri box. He will also take a look for Eduard zoom to upgrade interior. I'm planning to make this "US Navy Stuka" in three color scheme, don,t knew yet if I will use decals from box, maybe I will use some aftermarket. Anybody were using Italeri's decals for this model, are they good?

I've been thinking of this one as it's gets closer, and i think i've made a decision now on what to subject to do. It came down to a choice between the Fairy Barracuda or the Blackburn Skua. Both are ugly FAA aircraft like only those two companies can do them.
I've decided on the Skua because i have a set of canopy masks for that one!

I have changed my mind. Because I can't get PE parts for SBD-5 I will be making SBD-3 from Midway, ACC in 1/48.
