andrew has it down on the deck. I believe anthony has a drink poured in the mess for you.
Excellent work. Now when will SH release this or the roc in 1/72 like they've been promising
for years.

Excellent build, Andrew. Looks very good and the panels lines are well visible without being overdone.
Great entry in the campaign!

This is HB 1/48 FM-1 Wildcat with Eduard ZOOM. More photos you can see HERE

Really nice job on the wildcat, Marcin. The paintwork looks great and the weathering is spot on.
Thanks for participating in the campaign.

I'm brave but not foolhardy. Looks like a few web shops have taken delivery
of the 1/72 offering, but at the price i think i'd rather spend the extra few shekels
for a 1/48 model.
Lovely surprise with the hellcat marcin.
That is a beautiful finish to it.
The quality of the entrants has been outstanding and also the diversity
of subject matter might make it interesting as a feature. Would anyone
object to the whole lot of finished models being submitted to be a feature?

Here is a small update on my Eduard Royal class 1/48 Hellcat. The cockpit and engine has been assembled.
Luckly I found a colour that fitted Eduards interior green on the PE parts almost perfectly. This helped a lot with the cockpit as weathering can be kept to a minimum. I still need to paint the stick, gunsight and some of the the handles in black, but otherwise only a thin wash is missing before the cockpit is done.
The engine is a special resin engine included in the royal class kit. It looks good although the fit of the PE parts is not excellent. I think the PE parts are meant for the plastic engine in the kit. The plastic engine seems to have marginally different dimensions. Anyway, once painted it will look excellent through the open front cowling.
More to follow.....

Gents,
Well, it has been quite a while since I've written anything. Originally I was going with a 1/144th "anything". However that was before home dwelling problems occured. Since most of my time has been taken up with that, I selected a Hobby Boss 1/72 A-7E Corsair to build.
I have to admit I am quite pleasently surprised. It is definitely not a Hasegawa or Fujimi kit, but in some ways I like it better. Price wise, it was a little high, but it has also been a fun little kit. And that you can't put a price on.
I'll try to get a shot or 2 of my progress so far in the next few days. But it is a fun little build, and considering all the colorful markings of the Corsair's, I'll end up with more than one.
So what is everyone else doing ? Take it easy .............................Bruce

I decided to use the more colourful "A" type roundels on the wings, that were/should have been turned into "B" types by the Norwegian Campaign. Also the large fin tri-colour should also have been overpainted as well. The Skua that was recovered this decade near Norway had B roundels and no fin flash. However it seems that not all aircraft were brought up to the new regulations in time, as i found a pic of my subject aircraft crashed on a Norwegian beach. And it definately still has it's large tail tri-colour and also has the yellow banded fuselage roundels- so Special Hobby definately got that part right. Can't see the top of the wings in the pic though.
Andrew
Wow! Outstading work there, Andrew!
never thought much about that aircraft till now. totally cool colr scheme on that, and good choice with the decals.

I have made a little more progress on my Hellcat.
The resin engine has now been painted and mounted. It is quite difficult to align the engine properly as it is basically a big resin blob that needs to be adjusted perfectly both horisontally and vertically to make it sit the right way in the engine cowling. The way Eduard indicates it in the instructions does diffinitely not work. I would have been lost without my references.
The resin wheels are a massive improvement over the kit plastic wheels. Unfortunently the inner whells disks are very difficult to remove from the moulding block so I damaged both. I am trying to reconstruct the whells disk sprockets, but it might be over my ability.

good work folks on keeping the ball rolling in this group build.
I'll finally got started on the wyvern. Trumpeters 1/72 s.4 version.
It is a joy to work with a well engineering and detailed kit.
The eduard PE fits perfectly as well. Got the cockpit half built
in a few hours tonight. Must be about 50 pieces in there alone.
Congrats to czarny for winning the model of the month for his
hellcat.

Greetings all.
Hail the Campaign leader!
I am finally up to this campaign but have a dilemma... I have too many to choose from!!
OK. I have narrowed it down to the following short list and would like a hand deciding on the build...
1. Academy 1/32 F/A-18D Night Attack Hornet
2. Trumpeter 1/32 SBD-1/2 Dauntless
3. Trumpeter 1/32 A-7E Corsair II, or
4. Hobbycraft 1/32 Hawker Sea Fury in RAN colours.
I have about 10 others to choose from but these are the older ones in the stash.
All help appreciated.
Regards
Warren

Greetings Campaign Leader!!
I mainly have 1/32 aircraft and 1/35 AFVs.. and 1/350 ships.
No small stuff anymore..
Will wait for a few more votes but I think it will be the Sea Fury... maybe..
Ah.. I just checked my Detail Sets list and I have the Big Ed set for the Corsair II so it will take a fair bit of time to build, whereas the Sea Fury will be out of the box..
Lets see how the cards fall..
