Very nice entry Todd,I like the cockpit work especially.

Excuse my ignorance but what carrier does it operate from ? It looks like an Apache but i'm not sure. Can you give a little backgound for me.

Thanks

Yep it's gotta have operated from a carrier at least once to qualify. I'll not disallow it at this late
stage as it seems a bit mean after you've done all this work.

The RN will operate Army Apaches, and so I'll let you off with this. as long as you
tell us the details you've added to make this into a naval apache is that fair?

Just in case you thought I was sitting back, a quick update with photos to follow. SHar is assembled and main paint colours done, Klear coated and undercarriage fitted. Will be working on it this weekend, need to try to finish it before I go on holiday next Wednesday, not easy with everything else going on. Kit is well designed and slots together well, it's a good model.

Hello Jaypee, Here is my Birdcage Corsair for your campaign. is the Tamiya one, very great kit, a dream to build. the scheme is not 100% true, but the model is for me, so..Do not worry.

You see, in page 8 of the Corsair in action by Squadron, there is a birdcage landing, it has the number 17-F-12 and it has the red around the star and bar, the same year and location of 17-F-13, so I figured, why not?; besides it is more colorful.

Happy Modeling

Byron

P.D.: where is the campaign gallery?, can you still post there?

Another one down. And wings folded ready for stowage to boot.
I like it a lot! The only GB I'll not finish this year is my own! But it
was worth running it to see all your great builds. I've not given up
on the wyvern and will finish it as other builds and work and all
all the other things a father of two toddlers has to distract him allows.

Anyone else still planning on finishing?

I am hoping, planning...praying...that I'll make the deadline. As of this evening the F-14D is basically complete sans weapons and rudders. Base coat to follow in a day or two. The first aircraft model in over a decade and I had to pick this one. Real life has also somewhat cursed this build. To all those who have completed their builds, you make me rabid jealous. Some super great models you people have built.

EDIT: Here's some pictures I didn't have time to post originally.

Jan

Yup, I plan on being done! Decals are pretty much finished, just have another Future coat and some weathering, final assembly, etc. I ended up waiting for a new windshield from Rainbow Ten because I stepped on the one I had...oops! Great service by the way, the Canadian distributor wanted almost twice the price Rainbow Ten did, and told me I'd be waiting two months. Not quite two weeks from Japan.

Recently, a belgian LHS tried to sell me decals for 25 euro (and a 3 weeks waiting time) which I bought on the internet for 16 euro postage included. I got the decals in my mailbox 3 days after payment.

I've given up on LHS

Very nice build Justin; I think I will have to build another, this time an F4U-1A or D or maybe an F4U-7.

Happy Modeling

Byron,
You'll find the LHS = Local Hobby Shop. Unfortunately, a dying breed in most countries today. But most of us do manage to survive with the Internet, and of course, E-bay. JP - this has been a good build, congrats on running a very successful build. Take it easy..........Bruce

Well one week left and I want to see that skyray landed
Don't sweat it if you don't quite make it, post the final build and I'll
award the ribbon. It's a shame I'll miss it myself but real life and
family can take up time you don't expect and family always has to
come first

Thanks to all who participated. Would anyone object to the finished
shots being put in a wrap-up post? Just to gather all the great work
done together in one place.

Over and almost out

We are definitely getting down to the wire,as the saying goes. I am taking a short break to let a few things dry before continuing. Except few a few minor details the F-14D is painted and I have started on the decals. I am off work today and devoting my time to expedite completion of my build. A couple quick and not the best pictures.

Fingers crossed and back to work.

Cheers,
Jan

Edit: Almost four hours and 40 decals later. Still about 50 or so decals to go and some detail painting. You can see half the decal sheet to the right of the Tomcat.

Wow, some fantastic builds here, congrats to everyone.

Unfortunately I've had no time recently for any modelling as a result of work, life and lots of other stuff and there's little chance of me getting any this side of Xmas

Sorry JP, would love to have touched my Hellcat down on the Airdale carrier ...

All the best,

Mike.

I'm the same, painting the house, visitors, usual end of year rush with work. Xmas shopping. I could've rushed the wyvern but I'd rather do it right.

Hi Everyone,

I've finally finished my Trumpeter 1/48 Seahawk. Picture aren't brilliant I'm afarid, as there isn't much natural light to speak of at this time of night. but she's finished, and i'm pretty pleased with the outcome.

Any comments are welcome.

Victor.

Well, here it is. Tamiya's 1/48 F4D-1 Skyray straight outta the box, with Aeromaster decals. Of course when I went to do the final assembly, one of the nose gear doors is nowhere to be found. It'll be in my model room somewhere. Thanks for the campaign!
