Some really beautiful build in this campaign. After all I went through with my diminutive Tomcat I can really appreciate what Frigate accomplished with the F-18F. I was worried about being late so in a rush I put up two pictures in the campaign gallery yesterday evening. Low and behold if the SWMBO doesn't point out to me that the black on the tail fins should extend further forward What was she doing looking at F-14 pictures?). I'm not sure if or how to substitute photos already in the campaign gallery so I'll post a few with the corrected fin here.
Here's '164' trying to catch the '4' wire. (excuse me if I got the terminology wrong).
Here getting ready for night ops.
Here with the corrected tail.
This was a great campaign and I enjoyed it despite my numerous self inflicted setbacks. This was my first carrier based aircraft in almost 20 years, please be gentle. I think that I can wait for Son of Airedale Navy.
Cheers,
Jan
Edit: I tried to update the photo in the campaign gallery but it didn't appear to work.

Pic of Harrier now uploaded onto the campaign site. Although complete I managed to lose the PE parts on the nose while de-masking, Great campaign and the Tamiya kit generally goes together nicely
btw I just looked through the gallery while posting the Harrier and there are some very impressive models, great work people

Everybody had done really great work. I wanted to single out the Seahawk because it is a unique aircraft to build. Really nice work there. Russell

well, with only 4 hours left in November 30th here, I'll have to submit my entry. I really have about 10 more small things to do (you can make a game out of spotting them if you like), but i have a dinner date to get to.
My A6M5a from the Hasegawa kit in 1/48, representing an aircraft from the 652nd Flying Group (Carrier Jyunyo), June 1944:
Once I have totally finished this one off, it'll be the subject of an Aeroscale build review.

Excellent effort by the stragglers. You all deserve the ribbon.
I'll get down to producing a wrap-up thread, and awarding the ribbons.
Give me till next week to dish them out. I'll post a message on here.
If by then you've not got one PM me and I'll sort it out.
Glad to see you all enjoyed it.
Build on.
PS. If you are almost done and feel you just missed, don't despair,
post on here and you'll get your ribbon.
I'm soft like that.

Oh no!!! Did I miss with one day again? I better set an alarm clock! It was the holy festival period in Turkey last 4 days and I didn't get online yesterday. Anyways since Jaypee is showing kindness I am posting them now. 1/144 F-14A of VF-84 from Dragon, old kit. There you go:
Anyways it waz nice to build a carrier bird with a group of fellow modelers. Very very nice works everyone. But to be honest I loved the Buccaneer, I am a fan of the bird. Looks extra nice in RN colors.

Well thats a wrap. I've awarded the ribbons. 18 completed build out of 54 isn't bad but I love the variety of A/C portrayed here from biplanes and early FAA through the pacific fleet to suez crisis, and Vietnam era and cold war to present day. Excellent. PM me if you think I've missed you.

"Airdale - Naval aviator, aka 'BROWNSHOE'. Can also refer to any member
of the aviation community, officer or enlisted. From envy, often
prefixed by non-aviation types with expletive adjectives.
Almost since the advent of air power planes have been modified or
designed for operation at sea.
This campaign deals only with those that have taken off and landed on
aircraft carriers.
Over six monthn 18 modellers completed builds of aircraft for this group
build.
There is wide variety of aircraft from the early thirties through to the
Norwegian Campaign, the Pacific Fleets, Korea, Suez conflicts and the
Vietnam war, the Cold War era, Gulf Wars and right up to present day.
Here are the results of their efforts. I think you'll agree they all
deserve their "Wings of Gold" ribbon."

Thanks Todd. Good to see a helicopter down safe. That link doesn't
work but I've taken the liberty of posting a couple your gallery photos here.
What mods did you make to the kit?
Thanx John. I couldn't get the link to work when I posted. The kit mods are Hasegawa shrike, and sidewinders added. The Rotor radome is a plastic button from my moms sewing basket, the cockpit has CRT's from photo film, and painted details. various anntena and static dischargers from fishing line and styrene sprue. Micro scale decals from an F-18. Model Master enamals. Thats bout summs it up.
