My vote for most entertaining thread. Generally I'm not interested in modeling A/C but at this thread goes on, I find myself dusting off some kits with wings!
Eagerly awaiting the next installment

Cheers,
Charles

Great thigh-pads, and then I mean on the chair and not Hannah with the green eyes. They really look like a friends Highway-patroljacket from the late 70's (after five sets of lining).

Hey, Thanks, everybody! Well, it's been a busy- but relaxing weekend. Among other things, a flock of birds crapped all over my car, so I had to wash it! I feel like that Squadron Guy sometimes...

I've posted this image earlier, but a sense of duty- and profound gratitude- leads me to begin today's update with a tribute to America's heroes- before our dastardly little villains take over.

Chuck,

Magnificent work! Thanks for thinking of our veterans on Memorial Day.

Who could keep their eyes on the skies with Fritzi on the ground?

I'm just stuck in the deer in the headlight look...

and what I enjoy the most... is the cartoon way you do the builds.. I love them... so what program are you using to draw your characters??

You are all way too to kind!
It was my sweet little wife's birthday yesterday- we had a nice dinner out and walked the dogs at the beach. I got to model some, too- she's very supportive of my weird hobbies. She even brought me a nice, cold one while I was writing up this post- cheers!

That resin wheel well is really something! Such delicate detail. Looks like the firewall is molded on as well. I'm very impressed with how you can clean up a model part like the wing after so much rough stuff to fit the new resin wheel well. The scratches and putty excess. All will be smoothed out and ready for paint once you're done with it. Not as easy as it sounds. Good job Chuk.

Chuck, I have always admired your artistic ability. Your use of paint is really an inspiration. But what really, really blows me away, is how you can cut, drill, slice, saw, file and genuinely destroy whole parts of injection molded plastic…and have everything turn out not only 1,000% better, but looking like it was that way from the start! No blemishes, no warts, no drama. Honest to God, I walk away from your updates every week shaking my head and mumbling to myself. I can hurl superlatives at you all day, but what it all boils down to is, thanks ever so much for teaching modelers your wonderful techniques, and inspiring us to give them a try. I’ve already informed my kits that it’s no more Mr. Nice Guy (…I think I saw a few cringe when I snapped my rubber gloves, and reached for the Dremel).

Cheers,
Mike

Simply amazing, as always Chuck, I can only hope to be brave enough to tackle a project like this some day

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that mixes too much milliput, Camogirl and I always roll the excess into a ball and scribe smiley faces into them (I know we're nuts ) and seem to have an entire row of little heads on my window sill now, including a totem pole of heads that Camogirl made.

In answer to you question it depend on the person some see all the hard work as part of the fun and some see it as a chore, as for me I'm a little from column A and a little from column B (depending on what mood I'm in)

I'll put my hands up and admit that I will never be brave or skilfull enough to attempt some of the things you do! If I "destroyed" a kit like that it would probably remain destroyed instead of emerging vastly improved. However your amazing builds do inspire me to greater efforts in my rather less impressive and rather more hamfisted builds. I never fail to learn something from your posts! Brilliant stuff, keep it coming.
Cheers

Not too much time at the bench this week- lots going on! I'll let Fritzi get you caught up on our progress- I'm off and running!

I quit. You're on another spectral plane. I can't recreate this level of detail even in 1/32nd!

And the broads are hot, too!

You build is outstanding! I am learning a whole bunch and I am trying a couple of things on a He 162 that I am building right now.

How did you finish the joints of the insturment panels and the two halves of the plane? If you used Mr Surfacer or putty, what did you do to protect the work that you have already done?

Thanks,

Cam

Thanks, everyone! Cam- I'm not sure I understand you question...

No update per se, this week- sorry. Duty calls! I had to work this weekend, storyboarding another blockbuster feature for blur studio, my "real" job. Fritzi, Pfennig and the rest have the week off, but in the meantime, here's some of our featurettes for your enjoyment. I did the storyboards for all these spots and a lot of the concept design as well.

I kind of agree Armando, but then I wouldn't get to see Hannah with the green eyes no more , so I'll stick around. (Waiting, waiting, waiting.)

Cool Fw, by the way. Would be nice to have for the holidays here in Sweden. Lakes everywhere!
