cool version of the '109!
I'd be down for a Toon campaign in a heart beat.

Hey Terri, I could feel that finger waving sternly at me, so I thought I'd show you that I'm really here. It never ceases to amaze me what a difference 10 minutes makes to the appearance of an office.
Base paint . . .
Dry brush (Tamiya Flat Aluminium Acrylic)
Wash (Burnt Umber artist water-colour)
That will be dry by tomorrow night, so I will add the belts and button her up !!
Cheers, D

D what a great job on the cockpit. It looks tremendous! I always have a hard time weathering the living spaces on aircraft. Not that I can't, mind you , just that after going thru all the trouble and effort of getting it "right" it seems a shame to dirty it all up
Anyway, great job

Heinz Bar and his Battle of Britain Bf 109 has taken flight. This is the Academy 1/48th scale Bf 109E-3 Heinz Bar. I built it OOB except for the gun barrels. Paints are MM and Aeromaster enamels and the yellow is Tamiya. 70/02/65 and the canopy frame is a decal. i eschewed the decals for the cammo and elected to paint. An oily/grimy black pinwash was the only weathering. Thanks for letting me participate.

Hi to all,
I recently finished my first aircraft as I normaly build afv's. I had so much fun with it so I decided keeping on with another prop. This is what I found at my lhs today and I like to join this campaign:

Terri, thanks for the kind words.
Today I got started, it will be completely OOB.
Here are the first parts for the engine:
and put together:
more parts to follow:
completed:
So that's all for today, next progress probably in a week.

Well it' been a weekend of firsts for me. My first attempt at woodgraining (the prop on my Gladiator for Aces High 2), and now my first try with Photo Etch. I enjoyed it a lot, and even managed to go without losing any !!
I got the fuselage together and installed the Instrument Panel
Then the seat went in from underneath
If my cunning plan works out the wings might even go on tonight.
Cheers, D

Well, I have finished Colonel Klink's weekend ride.... and have frozen time in the cartoon world of Stalag 13 (note the aircraft codes). Being on the lower end of the Luftwaffe supply chain he only has an old 109E that uses barbed wire for the antenna lead.....
It is painted up to recall his service in North Africa..... Ok, he was visiting some old buddies in Rome and they got him drunk on his last night and put him on a transport to North Africa instead of Munich. We never figured out if it was a mistake caused by to much wine or as a joke. However, Klink had to spend the weekend in Africa so tells everyone he is a "veteran of the North African campaign".
Hey, it is my cartoon war (raise your hand if you thought Hogan's Heros was anything but a live cartoon.... that many?) and I write the history anyway I want....
It is done.....

Good evening to all!
Damian: the painting and weathering looks very convincing
Terry & Hermann: also nice painting on the interior
Bob (Bigrip74): there is not much cleaning necessary, only some seams and nice fit so far.
Today some pics of the cockpit, only dry fitted. My problem is the part in the middle, I remember in a review was this pointed as not correct for the E-3 version, can someone help me
Thanks and greetings

**** What brand kit is that? The reviewer is correct. That element between the pedals is a fairing for the gun breach of the MG 151 that was introduced beginning with the Friedrich series.
The E series has the rudder pedals connected to a tapering vertical shaft that starts on the cockpit floor and terminates into the firewall behind the instrument panel

Hi guys,
Here's my humble offering of Tamiya's Emil in BOB markings of JG51.
Its the first kit i've completed in a long, long time, and the first aircraft i've taken on since I was about 12! It was loads of fun, and I learned a heap of skills. Now on the bench is Tamiya's Mk I Spitfire!
All the best,
Aaron

Hi Fred,
thanks a lot for your information, exactly what I was looking for, the kit is from Trumpeter (no.02288), I can't understand they didn't include the right parts (. So the best would be not to use the box.
thanks again

The components of the cockpit have been painted. I now need to assemble them, apply an oil wash and a bit of dry brushing.
Thanks for watching,
Hermann.
