Not sure what the final size should be... do you have the dimensions?

Of course, if you actually use this it means I HAVE to finish mine build on time (I build ssllloooowwwwwlllllllyyyyy) after all, how dumb would it look if I didn't even get a ribbon I designed? Hmmmm, might have to reconsider submitting this to you...

OK this is my first campaign. A couple of questions before I begin.

1- When does the campaign start? and end?

2-Where do we 'register' the model we will do? I have a 1/32nd Hasegawa G-10/AS to do with all the Master Details stuff.

3-Where and/or how do we post pictures?

4-Do we start a separate thread for our models?

Thanks for the info. I'm eager to get started.

Floyd,

Look at the tabs on the Aeroscale header (below the banner of this page). Open the "campaign" tab. There you'll find the campaigns. Click on the campaign for Bf109s. (campaign rules are found here too) On the upper right corner you'll find an "enlist" button. Click it and you''re in. (

...each campaign is basically one continuous thread. Post pictures as your build progresses.

I'll leave it to others to explain the process for posting pictures (its a bit of a pain )
...but once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy.

Cheers,
Fred

Great looking Ribbon! Although it gets kind of squeezed the smaller it gets..:-( Maybe you could come up with a nice looking banner also?? Unless one already exists.....

Hi there !

Fred has answered the first part .

Once you have your pic's loaded up in your gallery click on the pic you want to add in a post . Right click then click on properties , high light the HTLM and copy that to your clip board . Then in your post click on the img tag and inbetween these thing ] [ it says put image here high light this and the paste what you have on the clip board . Then hit the ready to reply button and your image should be there . There is step by step tutorial here on how to do this just have a look around the site .

Thanks for the info. I'm eager to get started.

Two more days ....................................

I'm still at a loss as to what I should start first. I love 109s. They're such sleek, tiny, detail filled machines. I really like the look of Friedrichs and Gustavs .

I think I might do two in tandem. I've been meaning to try and squeeze some extra value out of the Verlinden kit for my G2. By using the resin parts as a pattern, I could breath some life into the Hasegawa F-4 that I bought as a parts kit (I think I'll need to get a replacement canopy for it.)

I've built quite a few 109s over the years but I've never really built one opened up before. I'd like to take a stab at scratch building and detailing the F-4 while I'm building a Gustav.

We'll see. (I've really got to thin down this stack of Messerschmitts somehow).

Cheers,
Fred

I'm all ready to go for tomorrow. Will be doing this one because i've never done a JG27 desert scheme...though i probably won't be doing the box top aircraft.

Ah heck. I'm going all in on this. (even canceled a few other campaigns to make room) I'm just going to start these kits and begin building concurrently (sort of like one big study of Friedrichs and Gustavs).

I'll get done what I get done. If I finish one, cool. If I finish four, then at least I made a small dent in the model stash.

Less than an hour to go...

Hope you had a really good BD Boss Lady........

Not sure if this is the right place or not, but if not it won't be the first time I goofed in my life....

The IDEA behind this build is to build the fighter that Colonel Klink uses on the weekends to just do some "weekend flying".... well, the High Command thinks he is helping with the Defense of the Reich. His is the only aircraft in the skies that is a court martial offense for Allied fighters to shoot down!

This will mark several firsts for me.... first campaign, first aircraft in years (build armor mostly), first panel scribing, and first aircraft diorama. I started on the landing gear as the air craft will be shown on its take off run....... possibly about to run over a POW who is popping up out of a tunnel........ that depends on if I get the gear to work right...

It begins...

OK, so here is the method to my madness: One bird will be an exercise in studying the construction of the plane (109 construction is cool in that the motor mounts and oleo struts all originate at a central spar which helped keep it compact and light).

While I'm opening up the engine compartment, enhancing the wheelbays cockpit and wing radiators, I'll proceed with a couple of the other kits and take the lessons learned on the first build to enhance the others,

The G2 and F4 airframes were very similar. The G series introduced the DB605 engine which required a deeper oil than on the Friedrichs, however, aside from several small cooling scoops added to the Gustavs the cowling shape of the earlier F was maintained.

I'm therefore using the resin kit for the G2, making notes where differences lie, and using it as a guide for both the G2 and F4 models.

Fun.

Cheers,
Fred

Happy Birthday Terri (one day late). I have joined with this1/48 Bf-109E-1 kit. However, I am using markings from Krzysztof Janowicz' book 'JG 26 Schlageter, Vol 1'. The book comes with decals that match the illustrations. I think this is a great idea by the publisher.
