I have a Hasegawa kit of Adolf Galland's E model. Since I have his insignia as a tattoo on my right sholder, I'll do this one.....

Hi Terri,

The question about 1/24th was good one. Any reason why its not allowed? I have the old Airfix 109 and wouldn't mind seeing if I could turn it into something half decent.

Hi all. I went and took the plunge, based on the great advice here and some googlisation.....

Is now well inspected and firmly stashed for next March. I will be able to celebrate my Birthday with the aroma of cement and thinners (with maybe a hint of Bourbon hehehe)

Sounds like a great birthday Damian. Mine is too early for that though, but I'll probably have another 109 on the desk by then, so I'll live. Are you aiming for box decals or some other one?

Nice to see more large ones in this campaign. A 1:32 109 should be just as big as a 1:48 Jug, so then maybe we won't have to see this kind of horrible scenes any more.

Hey Tony, love the "Jug eats Mess" diorama theme. I have a 1/32 Smithsonian Jug and a 1/24 VFS Jug in the stash, perhaps we can start a collection of similar shots.

The G-10 kit has 3 options, I will be considering all 3 and the deciding factor will be the development of my fledgling airbrushing skills. The mottling scares the h**l out of me.

Looking forward to this a lot now.

Mottling is scary, but I've realized that my preshading can create nice blobs on small hatches and stuff. Better than when I'm trying to create mottling in fact. It has to be something psychological stuff involved.

So I will use the grey shades from the camo when I preshade the model and do the shading mottle-ish. That way I can practise on the right plane and with the right colour too.

Great marking choice Penny , just don't glue the model next to your tat though

Steve , the reason why I didn't inclued 1/24 scale is you really never see that scale here and from other campaigns no one has enter one . 1/72 , 48 and 32 are the main scales in which we model . However, if you would like to do that scale for the campaign I will have to say ........................You sure can !

Nice one D Can't go wrong with a hase kit !

And Tony , great shot of the jug eating the mess

It's been a while since my last visit. I kind of figured that the idea was torpedoed but I'm happy to hear that it's alive and kicking!! I officially signed in and considering either Tamiya's 1/48 109 or Eduards 1/32 that I recently purchased. Can't wait for the green light to shine.

hey hey picked up tamiya's excellent 109e in 1/72 of ebay for £2.70, the LHS was looking £10 for it,
which is not unreasonable, but i love a bargian,

The moral of that is if you are listing anything on ebay make sure you have 109 in the title and not
bf109e3 as the search is a simple text match. And don't finish your auction in the morning. 7-9pm
is the right time to finish it if you want the best price you can.

I'll look to do a finemolds 109f another time.

I'll do a legion condor emil as I got the decals for them a while back. And I already have Molders dora
flying overhead. this'll be the second time i've made this kit the first being an all black nightfighter.
I didn't like the tamiya kit stencils, a bit thick, but the legon condor sheet has it's own stencils and I've some
left over from the dora which look better.

Looking forward to the light relief this build will give.

Damian. I took a look at my Revell K4, and since I will not use any balkenkräuze or numbers I only need stencils and fluid fill markings. And since I will have to mottle anyway, maybe we could swap decals. My sheet has three choices, all with larger camo fields or sharp blotches. Take a look below and think about it. We got a lot of time before the whole thing starts.

Decal sheet.

And here are the other two. No idea why it won't work with all in the same post.

Hi Tony,

Not sure if it's just me but I can't see any pics in your last post.

Regardless of that, I am assuming that there are no big differences between the K-4 and G-10 models. Given that, I am much more interested in the kit build itself than the particular markings. If you have an interest in my markings, and yours will make my life easier with the camo schemes, I am more than happy to do a decal set swap. Please just send me a PM with your postal details and I will respond likewise.

Cheers and thanks for all the advice, D

No, Damian. Something weird happened with the pics. Here they are again.

You have a pm with my address in it. It just feels like the cool thing to do. If the world is small enough to swap things with Down Under - just do it

Got your PM Tony, and by the way, we here down under are actually on top of the world, it's just that the first mapmakers printed their prototypes upside down and nobody realised.

Right Damian. I hear that a magnetic polar switch can occur anytime from next year to next millennia (or more) and then you got every compass in the world on your side.

By the way, since I like flashy planes, I would have done Red 7. Red numbers, yellow noseribbon, green waistband and spiral spinner. That's a real looker. But now I have my plan, so my decals are going halfway around the world starting in 25 min when the postman empties the local box. We'll see how fast they are .

Hi,
I've been looking for an excuse to build the ICM 109F-4Z Trop that's in my stash for some time now, so I'm in. I have some Eduard PE for this as well I think.
