But, I can't accept comments like that, they are "too much" for me

The compiments are well founded. You are doing an outstanding job, and have surpassed me leaps and bounds. Here is a photo of my P-51, which has been sitting in the same spot for the best of three weeks.
Please don't ask me why I painted the spinner green when I was trying for blue. Its a long story.
Anyway, keep up the good work, and take any kudos you can get. You deserve it.

Oh Oh!!!
The wife is packing up to go to the Phiipines for the winter. She says if I'm good I can go with her
I may not get this one done
I hate being retired, and wish I could go back to slaving in the mine

@ Guy, yeah, right Anyway, just pack it up too, and take it with you I know you can get the internet in the Phillipines, and from there any supplies you might need.

I'm facing a choice and I'm wondering what other folks here would do. I broke off the antenna accidentally a while back. At the time I figured I'd never get it back on in a way that would look good so I just left it off.
Now I'm getting toward the end of the build, and I'm wondering if I should try to put it on. What do you guys think?

A spot of super glue, touch in the paint carefully with a paint brush, fine spray with airbrush your chosen varnish over the top and no one will ever know. (except all of us on here!)

Seeing all the work you make pushed me to start my built. So far, I have the cockpit done. All OOB with only the belts made from tin foil and wire, inspired by José Pedro Pires. Mine arent so good as his, but the cockpit will be closed anyway.

Beautiful cockpit, Naseby.
I have made a little more progress. I had a warning on the decals, so tested them on the propeller. So far no problems, but we will see when I start on the bigger decals.
More to follow.

I'm pretty much finished with the old kit. This was a bit of a struggle, not only because I lost a part and broke another off. Also because the way the parts fit on this kit was horrendous. Lots of putty got used on this baby. As an example, I didn't putty the lower engine cover. As you can see here it looks as if it is scaled completely wrong.
Anyway, it's done now. I think that given the challenges, it didn't come out as badly as I thought it would.

@ Jesper and Axel: you make nice progress, the Old Crow is a nice and clean built. Wouldnt minde if mine turned out that good.
@ Nick: Thanks, but why Mr.Naseby ? Is it because of my shaky hands and bad eyes ? No seriously im not that old, so there is no need for a Mr.

@ Jesper: aluminum finishes I stay away from since the accident but yours is looking good.
@ Nick: what brand of airbrush are you using there? Your work is looking good, I have a chinese a/b from Harbor Freight that works great but the user is not so good maybe I will learn before the next birthday (#58)
@ Guy: Happy Wintering in the Phillipines, you can still build there.
@ Naseby: nice cockpit, I like the effect of the shading.

Ok! Nick, next question which compressor do you use and is it easy to adjust the pressure?
I also played with my 51 and glued the nose peice onto the fuselage, but the two parts do not meet well. Here are some pics. of the nose.
I will need to rescribe after sanding the seams.
Can anyone tell what the two (2) square holes are for aft of the ammo chutes?
Bob
