I've just enlisted and will be using the Hasegawa 1/48 P-51D (early version) in the markings of Captain Donald Emerson(Donald Duck--dukes up and fighting mad).
Not going to use any aftermarket on this the detail is already great.
Martin.

Quick update on my "eggtang" I've been at Sam's the last couple of weeks so I've managed to get a little more done but no pictures as I forgot my camera anyway the egg has been painted, decaled, Kleared and oil washed.
Just waiting for that to dry and another coat of Klear, then sub assemblies will go on and it will hopefully be finished.

Made some progress over the last few days.
Just a little weathering to do before I close up the fuselage.

Hi all,
I have finally gotten around to taking some pics of my build. It is a Tamiya P-51B (new limited edition boxing) with Dallas Darling markings from Eagle Strike Blue Nose Birds of Bodney Part 6. OD over Grey with ablue nose and white ID stripes.
I have just masked and sprayed the white stripes so almost ready to gloss and start on the decals.
Regards,
Mark

The natural metal finish looks really good Martin, very well balanced and a great looking model.
My own 1/32 'B' conversion is taking shape now, I managed to locate an extra seat and cockpit parts via a friends spares box and have been working on the main wings, altering the leading edges and wing roots along with rescribing and a new gun configuration. I'll put some pics up soon.

Hello everyone. I have been floating around the armorama side of the house lately and thought I would take a look over here. Saw the Mustang campaign and thought, "I think I have one of those kicking around."
Granted I'm coming a little late to this party, and it will be kind of tight getting it done in time. But given the kit I have...
It probably won't be the end of the world if I have to rush a 20 year old kit that wasn't that great anyway.
This kit did have its advantages...
But I feel I should come clean. I have exaggerated. This kit isn't 20 years old.
It's 19.
In any case, I'm looking forward to joining you all

Welcome to the campaign, Axel. Do not worry about being a late entry. I have not even begun my build myself yet.
It will be interesting to see what you get from this old kit. Looking forward to see more.

Don't hope for too much. On my best day, I'm not as good as most of you guys. Still, I'll give it a whirl and throw up some progress pics as I go. I'm about two days from finishing the P-38 I'm working on. That one is another 19 year old Monogram (I'm trying to clear out the old stash). Anyway, once that is done, I can begin in earnest.

I still really haven't done anything on my build and will have to shift gears on it and set it aside . Will be doing a 72 scale build instead , easier for the time frame . Just have way to much on the go at the moment .

During my research on the internet I came across a colour profile of a PLAAF P-51. It was used by the nationalist forces during the Chinese civil war and captured by the Communist Peoples Liberation Army.
I cannot decide on whether I want to use some artistic license and make a P-51 in typical PLAAF camouflage and markings. So it will not look as below, but will still be loosely based on the markings below.
Or do the shark mouth P-51 from the Korean war. A very attractive and colourful scheme.
Suggestions welcome. More to folllow.

Well done Allen. An interesting distraction from the typical garden variety Mustang. Well done indeed!!!
