looking good!
Finished gluing up my tail group parts last night, added some more stringers and formers to the tail gear bay and placed the metal 'pin' to hold the tail wheel truss onto the gear leg.
Need to finish adding bits and bobs to the rear then paint it and join the fuse halves.
Thats right, no cockpit

I'm surprised Justin. 13 days into your build and you don't even have any decals on her yet?
Looks great man. Keep going.
I've finished my Aces High II build so I can start the finishing stages of my A-7 now.

Having been asked to help build a 72 scale Mk VIIc Submarine for a friend which was intended for entry in the Melbourne Model Expo, [for June 12 - 14 weekend] and 2 return trips over to Adelaide totaling 5 weeks between the entry date, all aircraft modelling was put on hold, [starting the sub was a nightmare, due to it's emence size, 36 inches long on the old scale, some very long hours and a lot of all night sesions too complete the model on time], however it did win Third place in it's class at the Expo and as payment I was given the Tamiya 48 scale Mk II Sworfish kit, but was also commissioned to build a Tamiya 48 Mk I Sworfish, which included the Tamiya etched set as well as an Eduard Zoom set for the cockpit.
Instructions of the Mk I build was no PE rigging in the wings, substitute them for something else and make it look real as possible. Paint the model in Model Master enamels of Dark Sea Grey/Slate Grey over Sky Type 'S' as 2P from the 'Bismarck' attack option.
I've used the Tamiya Mk I as my additional entry to this campaign.
Painting the Canvas Area on the inside of the fuselage halves.
Masking the 'Canvas' and applying the Grey/Green primmer.
Cockpit framework dry fitted to fuselage half.
Eduard Zoom set added.
Headon view of the Port wing rigging.
Tamiya etch set added to cowling.
Starboard view of fuselage cam scheme applied free hand.
Overhead view of the cockpit area and of the cam scheme.

Pics!
As you can I see I added stingers and ribs, bulk heads and re did the majority of the tail gear. I made the elevator linkage and closed off the bottom of the now removed rudder area.
Also opened up the pilots foot step in the fuse and opened up the wing support strut panel. Whats not pictured are the aluminum doors and step I made for the openings as well as the other side of the fuse which mirrors the stringers and such.
This is the first coat of paint.

Hehehe cheers Mark. A few distractions here, but the decals are on now and final assembly is close. I tried to use some old Otaki decals that I liked for this theme but they started to disintegrate as they dried so I had to strip them off and use some Superscale decals. Man, they are superb.
Now my digital camera has decided to be unco-operative at the least convenient time, so I'm afraid pics might be a while coming. Sorry.

Ok, so I have to take a pic with my phone, synch with my laptop, email to myself, swap to PC, download pic, upload to photobucket, and we're there !!
Apologies for the quality, but it's good enough to see what I'm trying to achieve.
Cheers, D

Definately an eye catcher. Cant wait to see how the fold works out.
Did the Navy really have a carrier long enough for the jug to take off from?
